theoretically possible.
i've salvaged more than 200 remains and never got an ecto.
that is 12k worth of remains made into 3k worth of dust and i spent 2k on the kits...
very not worth it...

i'm suprised he didn't put phantom residue also. theres a little glitch that on the trade window that shows them being worth ~1000 gold ea. you can't sell them to trader though at that price.

if you are trying to salvage them for ecto, give up it doesn't work , tried my with alot (~1000) a person told me that there was a 3% chance so i gave it a try. another person told me that they nerfed being able to salvage them a while back.

I'm hoping the new expansion/patch remedies the poor salvage odds... we'll find out in a few days!
