Why would anyone go to the effort of paying you 1k for a tome when you can pay 1k for a skill at trainer? :S

That question really belongs in our Questions and Answers Section. But I'll answer it here: A tome unlocks a skill account wide. You might have a character that needs a skill but does not have access to the trainer, so you go to the trainer with a character that DOES have access and then unlock it with the other toon using a tome.
