agreed, while 5-7 mil wouldnt surprize me from the right person. the most realistic expectations are between 3-5 mil.
i love it how so many people who try to PC items like this are often the ones who cannot even come remotly close to affording them.

edit:
if you need a starting offer, i will front 2.5 mil (offer expires when anet announces a final date for ch2 release).

indeed.
this, with req 8/9, could easily garner 10 mil.
but to reiterate my earlier point, if we were to have a show of hands of people in this thread who own a shield worth 4 mil or over, only 2 would be qualified (to my knowledge); so take that into account when you weigh the PCs.

Just out of curiosity, how many players actually have enough ecto to pay millions for something? I've seen things go in-game for 200k, which seems somewhat reasonable for the current market...but millions is astonishing.

for starters, myself, nef, lbs, road runna, coolyguy, etc.
however, i rarely see nef on nowadays, havent seen lbs post in ages and cooly technically quit, but these are examples.
point is many of the beyond-rich are quitting the game, but hopefully some will return in ch2.

he occasionally pvps, and he gave away a substancial amount of his possessions, and quit the guild which he created; for all intensive purposes he quit.

look at the 2 guys who posted above you haha

but ya that 27 always -2 magmus just got like... (i forget exactly) like 175 ectos 150 saphires and a perfect req 7 sword, and this has different yet techniqually more perfect stats you could say

i wouldnt sell less than 3 mil, i think 5 or more mil is definalty a possibility, just depends on when you sell, and who is buying.

It can't be that many, or at least not many who still play. I'm guessing the list of people who can spend millions on a single item is pretty short.

Akhilleus, thanks for the kind answer. I get a lot of people with attitudes answering when I ask simple questions, or chewing me out for offering an honest price check, and its nice to get a reasonable reply.

Just noticed this thread again so sorry for pulling it up. But wtf are you talking about? I wanted to see the shield because it seemed too good to be true. People like you piss me off. Judging without knowing.
