Okay, plenty of people have been scammed in the process of playing Guild Wars. Now instead of making accusations here and there, why don't we make a thread to post and investigate scammers? If I can get a team willing to help me find scammers we can do this. If you want to help me investigate, send me a PM. If you have a scammer that you've ran into post it here. Confirmed scammers will be posted on this post in BOLD.

EDIT: It might also help to note where they usually stick around and what they do. Thanks again.

If you are going to post names, you should have screen shots to back up your claim, otherwise....don't post.

just woundering but how will this stop them? all it will do is let there name be known for scamming and they can easyly make a new char...

I dont have screenshots, but the 2 guys i put in bold scammed me and other ppl and are known.

If you take some screen shots to prove your claim that they are infact scammers, go to guildwars.com -> support -> sign up (quick) -> report them, and attach SS.

Anet bans scammers.

How did the 4 players mentioned in the thread scam? Kinda hard to be scammed in this game if you are paying attention. And there is always a chance to get scammed on a run.

but surely that cant work... u can just get out some 1337 photoshop skills and get some one u hate banned...

Most MMORPG servers keep logs to verify screen shot "evidence." At least this was the case with SOE's EQ. There's no reason why ANET can't do the same with GW, especially given how cheap RAID-5 arrays run these days.

PS: If you ever try getting someone banned this way, it'll probably backfire without your account in ANET's crosshairs.

Why don't you people say what happened rather than just saying "so and so scammed me" In most cases that I've heard of it is just as much the fault of the person who thinks they were scammed for not paying attention and in some other cases honest mistakes really do take place. This seems more like a place for people to make baseless allegations against people for whatever reasons that you might be mad at someone for. Post how you were scammed and let us decide who was to blame???

i had the same thing that happened to ap0c happen to me, traded 4 ectos for 36 gold >< sux when ur tired and not paying attention. the guy who scammed me is MADAM WAFFLES

This is a perfect example for my previous post. You must agree to the sale before any trade takes place do you not? So if you didn't pay attention to what he had offered then don't you have some responseablitly in this? Why would Anet have done something about about you being unhappy with the outcome of a trade that you agreed to and accepted?

This was intended, fine for me if you find these kind of actions normal. For now on I to will try to to pull this also on everyone I come across.
