And when you are being oppressed by something, you pretty much wanna burn its image, for revenge if not for a nice morale boosr before the next battle.
I cant remember the exact thread but i remember reading about it somewhere that the Charr were linked to Titan worship and it makes sense by linking the dots in the plot:

-Charr casters were labeled as flameworshippers and used primary Fire elements in their magic as well to cause the searing.

-To back up the above point, theres a mission in tyria (cant remember name) which require you to lift the siege on rin(?) with Prince Rulik by using the anicent artifact Stromcaller to bring the rains to weaken the charr forces.

-The Charr after causing Searing, attempted to invade Kryta and for a time succeeded until the discovery and formation of the White mantle which then managed to force them back to their lands.

-To back up the above point, The white mantle on orders from the Murssat garthered and gave souls of Chosen on bloodstones (batteries) to seal shut the gates that would otherwise allow titans to roam freely on the Prime. The Murssat hence can be considered enemies of the Titans as would the White mantle to the charr who merely does the will of the murssat to the ends of serving their own purposes other than worshipping them as gods as a whole.

One of my main concerns is with glint who having know what will happen wasnt entirely honest with the Heros and her intentions with the Scepter of Orr leaves much more to be considered. Did Glint also then know about abaddon as well and the reaching of torment into the world? Was there any information in the end of Nightfall that have implicated Glint in anyway?

If not should venturing into the charrlands be the emphasis of Chapter 4, then indeed Glint may make a reappearance and play a major role in the storyline, not forgetting seening more of the charr and titans as well.

Support of Charr worshipping the Titans is in the original Guild Wars Manuscripts, quoted exactly here:

"Each night when they make camp, the Flame Carriers erect a flammable effigy in the shape of one of their gods, then ignite it and let it burn till daylight."

In both Pre- and Post-Searing, you can find both burning and burnt effigies of creatures that look exactly like Titans.

Also, in Last Day Dawns, the Charr and Titans are allies against you. Don't think they would be doing that if the Titans were old enemies.

I would love to see a story connection with the Charr...I've always had a fascination with how mysterious they are.

I personally think that Abaddon is dead and Komir inherited his power. Either way, he's powerless now.

The manual also states the Endless Ocean or something similar... maybe it is time the Christoffel Colombus sailed across it and finds out it is not that 'Endless' anymore.

He said it in an Elonian explorable area, and you're right about his training in Cantha, which is why I was a little confused by it :S

Mabey the game will take place in the past before Orr was corrupted. Just a silly idea not likely anyway.

Mhenlo was born in Ascalon and studied most of his life in the Serenity Temple. So logically considering what what was quoted here, he traveled to Kryta and Elona before going to Shing Jea Monastery for more studies.

I doubt he's referring to Cantha's direction when he wonders what is across the sea.

btw did Gaile actually say the hint was in the Nightfall manual or did she just say manual cause if she said the later that could mean there may be hints in previous manuals, like the mentions of the Giants in the orig Gw manual (not as in the giants weve already met but bigger ancient ones which are one of the few things weve heard of but not actually learned anythign about) It would go nicely with the whole north of Tryia Iceland & Charr theme. And going from Anets current ways of generating campaigns its going to baised generally on 1 continent, Phrophecies - Europe, Cantha - Asia, Nightfall Africa, that would leave Antartica, The Americas or Australiasia as the prime base for what C4 is gonna be like. The Americas would be too much like previous chapters so i doubt they would do something too much like that, unless its more South America based. Australasia island hopping aproach would be nice to look at but there isnt much in teh way of lore for these areas so that leaves antartica as the prime candidate.

I think it's Cynn who says those lines, not Mhenlo. Or it might be Devona. I'll have to check.

And we also know that for like, most of the prophecies story line mhenlo isnt really in the game. Its possible that he grew up in the serenity temple, then went to study at Shing Jea with Togo. And then went to fulfill his destiny in Tyria.

And since we dont see him much until like, the southern Shiverpeaks, its possible.

""
Mhenlo says, as idle dialogue as a hench in an explorable area, "I thought Ascalon was the world. Then I came to Kryta. Then I crossed the mountains and came to Elona. I wonder what lies across the sea?"
""

We dont really know...which direcetion Tyria is from Cantha, so its possible that there is a different direction in term when he says "across the great sea"

We can tell that there is water to the north and west of the canthan map....so a Southwest trip from the Ring of Fire area or so could yeild a new continent.

Also now that i think about it, he would be saying this before the Ring of Fire area....so it might just be referring to that i guess.

I would love to see some more Dwarves. And vikings would own. Ooh now I'm excited =) Has it been confirmed that the next chapter will be a Nordish theme? If so it can be used very well to their advantage.

So it's a possibility that Chapter 4 is going to be about the northern areas since it was hinted in Nightfall manual,

"Cantha begins trading with Tyria, Elona, and the northern areas."

Same as in Chapter 1 where Cantha was hinted in the manual as well,

"Cantha begins trading with Tyria."

It's a fact that the Charr came from the north. So the northern areas may be their homeland. This is taken out from Chapter 1 manual,

"In unprecedented numbers, the beasts from the north swept down through all three human kingdoms."

It's also a possibility that the Charr worshipped the Titans but it's a fact that they have their own gods.

"Further defining the ring are pillars of pure obsidian or carved sandstone, sculpted to depict the faces of the mysterious creatures the Charr worship."

"To the Charr, flame is the physical representation of their gods."

And this little bit from the manual as well,

"Last sign of Giganticus Lupicus (the great giants) walking on Tyrian continent."

So perhaps we'll see the Charr and these great giants in Chapter 4...?
