I was opening chest outside Maatu Keep and got these. Don't know if they're worth anything but yeah lol.

Funny. I remember when I was doing Welcome to Cantha quest (coincidence) I also got a plagueborn focus Req 8 drop. (8 Soul Reaping, +45 health when enchanted.) This was a long while ago relatively near the Factions release, a few weeks after I mean.

I'd post the item but theres not much point in just seeing a screenshot unless it a "assigned for" one. Right?

No need to post a screenshot of it at all as back then it was a fairly common drop (exactly as rare as req.9 then and could have dropped from anything of high enough level, right now it's much harder and restrictive), back then you could have got it with req.7, but that was quite rare, about as rare as a req.8 today.

Screenshots worth posting are of items not currently widely known as possible drops (for example max req.8 axe or daggers), or showing a particularily nice drop from something to showcase a good source for getting it.
Posting some Req.7s with near max stats can be much more valuable info than yet another max req.8 shield or focus, so don't be afraid to post nonmax items in this thread, just don't post complete crap that's FAR from max.

The only real good and confirmed q8 oldschool drop I saw, was 2-3 months ago:

My brother got that beast during ..... tataaaa one of the new white mantle missions in NM.

I was like wtf

Bottom line: play NM (or run chests NM) try not to die of boredom and maybe you get lucky one day ...
My problem is, I need more "realistic" farm runs, not one of those once in a lifetime things. But that´s just me.

I have started to do alot more nm lately, both playin in fow with my heroes, and opening chests.
In fow i got a r8 shadow shield, althought this was white. It turn me to the question tho, if they drop white, they should drop gold.
Opened about 500 chests outside port sledge in nm, no luck so far tho.

Gutemuh < posting above me seem to have a nice r8 drop recently, and i believe him. grats

Has there ever been a recorded max damage requirement 7 weapon drop?

EDIT: So you say before NF release, hence no requirement 7's have been recorded to drop with an inscription? Once again, obvious assumption that I keep failing to make at this time xD

Looking through the old folders and smacked myself. I sold this after staves got updated to 20% inherent halves skill recharge since I thought "Oh the stats suck on all my staves now", let's just get rid of them. (Tue 08 Jan 2008 on the screenshot properties) The second reason why I sold it is because at the time Ritualists were not popular, I did not have a PvE one (and still don't), and communing is lacking in spells.

i don't know if this have anything to do with the threat but i got 2 max req8 drops durnig a VQ (HM!) in Tyria (Grenth's footprint)

Unfortunately, that white drop there won't really get you any money. It's not uncommon to get white drops like that, and they are also rendered fairly useless by being either uninscribable or unmodded.

It's wierd though.. I get lots of white max drops on my VQ's as well. Maybe it's time to get an Alliance of Canthan/Tyrian farmers going. See how many r8 max golds drop. Mmm.. Bad ideas sound so good.

I've had purples in NM that were Q8/16 and purple foci that were q8/12, strangely all from NM undercity chest running lol... But it's rare yes.

Had 2 q8 max healing ankh drop farming mantids nm, both gold, both armour +5 while attacking. got a q7/15 tactics celestial shield -2 enchanted gold from mantids chest in nm. I did about 200 runs for this. I didnt bother with a screen but im on the mission to do it again. Done about 250 reed bog runs now and got a q8 /12 protective item purple. And a q8 /11 focus gold. this was all in the last 2 months

if q8 grapes can drop HM, does this also mean they can drop gold? or does the fact that its grape change the possibilities of the req? and would this Only be for staffs?
