Guild Wars Community Wiki
Since this is my first post, let me first say: "Hail!"
That said:
So far, most of the community projects in Guild Wars have really been individual projects with some slight community input, from what I've seen. The nature of Guild Wars itself suggests a more collaborative approach.
I've set up a wiki on my website -- you can see my guild's current progress at http://www.tanatopia.net/wiki/index....d_Dragon:Index. While pretty incomplete at the moment, I've been working on filling in the item guide. The more people who help, the quicker we can get a complete, accurate site full of information about the release version of Guild Wars -- most sites now contain fully outdated information from old BWEs.
Of course, you don't have to limit yourself to just items. Collectors, mission walkthroughs, anything can be posted -- if a page doesn't exist, make it.
While I'll continue working on the project with or without everyone's help, it would move much faster with community backing.

A wiki is exactly what GW needs. Perhaps GWG could set one up?

Thanks! I hope to see more and more contributions, but already in the last few days, things have picked up.

Or just use the one already set up. It really doesn't matter who hosts it, and having more than one spring up is detrimental to everyone. I'd be thrilled if GWG linked to me, or supported the project directly, but trying to replicate the idea just slows it down.

The wiki is a very good idea! Exactly what GW needs (okay I'm just repeating what the posters have said before me)

It's doing rather well now, and I notice new contributers every day. Still, the wiki could use more exposure. Tell your guilds and your friends, and help it grow.
I found it quite difficult to advertise, as many fansites do not allow advertisements to community works hosted off-site. This practice is detrimental to the entire community, and I hope it changes, but right now GWG is really the only public forum, besides the wiki itself, where the wiki is being discussed.

I have been contributing to the Zerolives GW Wiki. Perhaps you can coordinate with Gravewit there and we can consolidate these two projects. In the end, a wiki for Guild Wars is a playerbase project, and work like this shouldn't be replicated.
I still would like to see a fansite like GWG take up the hosting on a wiki.
