Attribute Point Optimization Spreadsheet
I've created a simple Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that helps to minimize the number of "dead" (unused remnant) attribute points.
Edit: Trying to get file attachment working again.

this one seems to work perfectly
on this site go to "Site Home" at the top next to Forum Home then guides then attribute point distribution

Weird: My original post had a file attached. Thread got deleted by moderator by accident. Thread was restored, but the file attachment vanished.

Infact that guide was one of my "inspirations" to create the spreadsheet. However, the spreadsheet serves a little different purpose. It does all he math for you and covers ALL possible combinations for up to 4 attributes. I think most people concentrate on max 4 attributes. If you want more than 4, feel free to expand the spreadsheet, but be aware that each additional attribute increases the size by factor 6. Or simply refer to the a.m. guide.
Anyway ... the spreadsheet is very useful to me, and it may be to you too. Give it a try.
