Yeah, I figured that out not two seconds after submitting my last post, but the forum suffered a hiccup and wouldn't let me edit it. I have half an idea that that is the favicon that is displayed. I think every feed that is run from my domain has to have the same favicon. I'll look into it, but it's not very high on the priority list right now.

OK, that's two readers that won't show the images...hmmm. I'll clean up the script a little more before I start testing it myself on various readers. Thanks for the feedback!
PM to be sent to Mo/R9 in a few...

I just updated the script. It should now pull the Guild Wars World Championship image and link from the top of the news section, as well as scrape the championship link for extra info on the event.
If there is no event info at the top, it shouldn't scan any pages other than the home page. Shouldn't. Guess we'll see what happens when ANet either changes or removes the event from the news section.
For those having issues with images, the text should show up just fine...you just won't have that nice, large image taking up space in your reader window.
The script is still kludgy, in my opinion, though...so I'm still working on cleaning it up. But it looked like a good place to update the testers.

I took a look at Opera during lunch today. Uncheck the following setting to see the graphics. I think it could be a per feed setting...external embeds are disallowed by default for security.
You'll also notice the little icon that now shows up in the tab. It should also show up in Abilon. What was that I said about it not being a priority? I was bored, what can I say?

I also tried out Thunderbird...and didn't have any problems viewing the images. Monica, the images show up fine with the other 5 feeds, but not in my beta feed? Which version do you have installed? I tested it with 1.07.

A Guild Wars RSS feed? That'd be pretty cool.
I use Sharp Reader and Opera for my RSS feeds.
It's be fun to test out. Though it seems you've reached your beta tester limit.

Nice site, Eternal. I'll have to check out Dragonfly...looks pretty good. I liked the phpBB integration.
I hope to release the RSS link to everyone some time this week. I got sidetracked this past weekend by starting *another* side project and then real-life intruded. After I get it done, I'll be setting up a feed each for Game Updates, Network Updates, and the Guild Ladder.

Thank You
Used Php Nuke untill I got hacked >< then switched to CPG Nuke (now called Dragonfly).
They pretty took Php nuke around 6.5 and rewrote the entire thing for speed and security and made the coppermine photo gallery (and still keep there's upto date) + phpbb integrated into the portal.

I checked and saw that I had 1.02, LOL. I upgraded and still have the same problem. I think it might be a problem where the images are stored. Some of the banners don't show up on my browser either. So this might be entirely related to how webtraffic is filtered through the network where I tried this. I will try it on a less restricted network and it'll prolly work better.

OK, I made what I hope is the final changes to the script tonight before I hand out the link to everyone. Those of you who are beta-testing, let me know if all goes well.
I removed the dates from the titles and set those as the pubDate for each item, so entries should now be tagged with the actual date it was published on the GW site. Wasn't really any way for me to figure out the hour it was posted, so all entries will be marked with the same hour...but the mm/dd/yy should be correct. Except for Opera...for all entries, it shows the date you last checked the feed. Oh well. The event at the top will always have current date for a timestamp...if your feedreader can sort by date, that'll always keep it at the top.
Please give me some feedback so we can get this feed made public!

I like the changes you made it seems to make it alot more cleaner and more prefessional looking.
I for one would like to give you a big thanks for arranging this wonderful peace of guild wars data and I hope to see more projects like this in the near future.

The only thing I noticed about the change with the dates is that new entries will now show the 'main event' (currently World Championship) below any entry that is posted on the current day, for those aggregators that order by published date. I only noticed this with Abilon.
For instance, on 11/22, the entries were listed with GotW#26 first (posted on 11/22), then the World Champ event. Today, the World Champ event was moved to the top (the 'main event' published date is always the current date), while GotW#26 was bumped to second. Is this change with the way my script is handling dates causing any problems for the testers? Or is it a non-issue? Personally, I figured it'd be fine, but wanted to know what the testers thought.
Anyway, if I don't here any complaints from the testers in the next few days, I'll go ahead and open it up to the public. And then I'll work on the other feeds.

I just posted a new thread in CW for the public release of the Current News RSS link. It'll be available to everyone once the post is authorized. I'll continue to use this thread for testing other RSS scripts in development. Thanks to all who helped me test this first script, and to those of you who have been patient in waiting for me to finally release it.
