I think that, with a few exceptions, the new armours look better on female characters than on males.

Female mesmer.. Charlatans top, savants pants, charlatans boots
Both ele and mes in the luxton city require silk and cloth for their armor. Not sure if they require something else in the other city?

Funny thing is.
Most of the new armour looks a LOT better than the FoW armour for that class.
