Your the first I've seen to be able to start modding the GW resource files, major congratulations.

Quick Analysis of the file does show that it holds the Wave Files.

This doesn't mean it's completly clean... but it looks 90% clean in my opinion. Use at your own risk though. Took a look at it using a disassembler as well, looks clean but i don't understand most assembly... besides media and calling gw.exe and a MessageBoxA function i see no threat in it.
@djbartek, make sure your Avast is up to date... I'm running Avast as well, and it's probably old definitions detecting UPX.

a nub question: is simply removing the Graphics.dll file from gw main directory enough to uninstall it? or it installs itself permanently like the directsong updates ?

I've made a few mods over the years for GW, but so far seem to be the only one doing so. G-Stats & my kill sound effects mods (which eventually turned into KSMod) are my most popular by far. Another notable one is the Texture Editor myself and Derek used to create the Icy Dragon Sword & Terror Shield prank topics found elsewhere on this forum (Izzy added the Icy Dragon Sword to the game shortly after, so now you know where that idea came from huha). That's how we managed such nice screenshots/movies of the fake items, because they did actually exist on our clients.

Yes, just rename or delete the Graphics.dll file to remove the effect.

Thousands of people have downloaded my GW mods with not one person ever complaining of a keylogger in over 2 years. This includes G-Stats which did need to access the internet to upload stats, which meant anyone with a personal firewall needed to allow G-Stats to access the internet, and trust I wouldn't do anything malicious. This doesn't mean you're 100% safe, but I'd say the small % chance of being involved in a fatal car crash hasn't stopped you from driving in one.

How difficult is it to revert a mod like this back to the normal GW sound effects? It sounds fun for a while but I don't want it permanent.

Just delete or rename the Graphics.dll. It doesn't actually modify anything 'in' GW, just redirects some sound effects to some new sound effects temporarily in memory.

BTW: Love this mod, too cool. Brings me back to my pwnage sniping/nuking/flaking days.

I know a lot of Anet devs, met some of them in Taipei including the founding members, and drank beer with Gaile. It'd be rather silly of me to keylog people for their items.
Like any mod, there's risk, as in someone hacking my site and replacing the file with another. That risk is low, and lots of people have realized that. If the community fansites hosted or helped host the file it would be more secure. Replicant posted an MD5 of a clean file, so if what you download matches that MD5 then you're good to go, you have my word.
edit-Just reassembled v1.3, this is the MD5 of it plus that other info:

So many people are being negative. This is a great mod, and is just a bit of fun while killing things or GvGing.
@Firebaall: Kuntz is a trusted person, he's been around in GW for AGES, is a well known PvPer and has made mods before without hacking. Most PvPers know him or know OF him, either through PvP or his mods, so he isn't just going to hack everyone's accounts.
@Tetris: This mod isn't a big deal, it's only a simple addon made for fun, to announce kills with sound (something GW is lacking). There's no reason to start bringing up whether it's legal or not.

I loved to play the good old UT quite a lot.
Does this mod have a kill count? double kill for 2 consecutive kills and so on...
Or is it random?
Btw does enyone know where to get all the UT sound effects or level music?

Yeah, you're right. I downloaded it and scanned again, no viruses. Strange thing though...
One more question: is there any chance that replacing Graphics.dll with this mod may cause game to crash after update(or cause some problems with updating the game)?

I'm pretty sure that their are several hundred people in #gwp that can vouch for Kuntz. Not to mention however many in game and on various forums.

Yeah, it's clean and I'm loving it.
Possible bug: solo killing a level 20 monster does not trigger the sound effect. (+100 xp)
