Sjeng's Collector Finder
Did you ever want to get a certain weapon or offhand item, but didn't have the cash to buy one? Do you have a new character that needs to be equipped with bags, runes of holding, a belt pouch and decent weapons, but you want it FAST? Do you need to equip your heroes, but don't have all those weapons? Do you need better armour, but can't afford it yet? Do you need a cheap ID-kit or Salvage-kit? You want to powerlevel your guildies, heroes or friends, and need scrolls for it?
Well, search no further! Here is the answer to all these problems:
Sjeng's Collector Finder (clicky)
This is a handy tool with which you can easily:
- choose a weapon / offhand item / XP scroll / powerup / kits
- choose the attribute you need (if you need a weapon)
- pick the type of mod you'd like your weapon or offhand to have
- see what collectible drops you need to collect for it
- view a map of the area where the collector can be found for the item you need
Then all you need to do is go to that area, farm some monsters, collect enough drops, and go see the collector for the item you need.
The maps show information about all the items a collector has in a small popup-box, along with an image of the collectible drop they trade for.
For those who would like to just browse the maps, here are direct links to them:
Tyria:
Collectors Map of Pre-searing Ascalon
Collectors Map of Old Ascalon
Collectors Map of the Northern Shiver Peaks
Collectors Map of Kryta
Collectors Map of the Maguuma Jungle
Collectors Map of the Crystal Desert
Collectors Map of the Southern Shiver Peaks
Collectors Map of the Fire Isles
Collectors Map of Sorrow's Furnace
Cantha:
Collectors Map of Shing Jea Island
Collectors Map of Kaineng
Collectors Map of Jade Sea / Echovald Forest
Collectors Map of the Echovald Forest
Collectors Map of the Jade Sea
Elona:
Collectors map of Istan
Collectors map of Kourna: Arkjok Ward, Dejarin Estate, Gandara, Barbarous Shore
Collectors map of Kourna: Sunward Marches, Marga Coast
Collectors map of Kourna: Turai's Procession, Jahai Bluffs, Floodplain of Mahnkelon, Yatendi Canyons
Collectors map of Vabbi: Holdings of Chokhin, Mirror of Lyss
Collectors map of Vabbi: Forum Highlands, Vehtendi Valley
Collectors map of Vabbi: Wilderness of Bahdza, Bokka Amphitheatre, Resplendent Makuun
Collectors map of The Desolation: Vehjin Mines, Joko's Domain, Sulferous Wastes
Collectors map of The Desolation: The Ruptured Heart, Crystal Overlook, Alkali Pan
Collectors map of The Desolation: Poisoned Outcrops, Shattered Ravines
Collectors map of Bahdok Caverns
Notes:
- All these links can also be found on my guild's website.
- If you want to use these maps on your own site, please do NOT link directly to my maps, as my server will be overloaded. You may copy these maps and the source code, as long as you do NOT edit the maps in any way, and give me proper credit on your site as well.
- If you have collectible drops, and you'd like to know what you can get for them, just choose the map of the area you farmed those drops in, and see what the collectors have by hovering your mouse over their locations.
Collectors ALWAYS collect drops that can ONLY be found in their area. For example: Heket Tongues are drops from Heket, who can be found in Kourna and Vabbi only, hence there will only be Heket Tongue collectors in these areas.
- I didn't bother describing the non-max damage/stats weapons in Tyria. Hence, these cannot be found with the collector finder. The maps from Ascalon to Maguuma only show the names of the items that can be gotten.
- Armour isn't included (yet?) in the collector finder, but they are mentioned on the maps in blue boxes. I might add them in the future.
In Tyria there's max armour from collectors in the Crystal Desert and the Southern Shiverpeaks. (I will update the Tyria maps to have blue bars for armour and purple bars for bags and kits. Scrolls can only be found on the Burning Isles)
In Cantha there are 3 non-max armour sets in Shing Jea Island, and 1 max armour set in Kaineng.
In Elona there are only 2 non-max armour sets found on Istan, and no max armour set on the mainland.
- I'm missing images of some collectible drops. If you see an "X" image in a popup box, and you happen to have one of those collectibles, feel free to contact me ingame, and trade me one such item, so I can make a screenie of it and add it to the maps. My IGN: Sjeng De Nachraof.
- Feel you want to reward me for my efforts? Donation are always welcome ^^ just pm me ingame.
(This is a project of Sjeng of the Limburgse Jagers guild)

Well, I use IE, and I'm not familliar on Firefox codeing... If you have any suggestions to correct this problem you have, please post it or pm me, and I will fix it.
Glad to see I've made it to the frontpage news of Guru, even better: with a permanent menu link to the left side
Thanks Inde!

Good job, people don't realise how usefull things like this are, untill they need it. Funny enough, I was only thinking of something like this recently.
However, it would be cool if greens could be included in something like this. When looking for max weapons, I always spend time trailing though Guild Wiki for suitable collector items and greens. is this a possiblility?

Very cool, but it would be nicer if you got rid of that background image and had just a solid color. The pattern makes it kind of hard to read.

Theres a scroll collector in Sorrows Furnace also. I don't see that on your list, it is an "elite area" but its the only "elite area" with collectors that I know of.

My complements, I loved it immediately when I used it to try. One remark only, in firefox it seems not properly displayed, the lower part of the selection boxes are overlapped by some background just beneath it, maybe its my settings.

I love this. thank you for taking the time to make it, but there are a few small problems.
* The background is kind of annoying, something lighter or more solid would be much better.
* The dropdowns are cutoff on Firefox and alot of people who will be using this will be using firefox. i think a break between the lines might fix it, or you could download the small firefox client and try it (but be careful you might see how much better it is that IE)

should be fixed soon
I already sent the OP the information needed to correct the dropdowns.
basically, it is because firefox gives <p> tags a default margin.
so changing <p> to <p style="margin:0;"> fixes the display.

Great Tool! I suggest linking to the wiki so that I can see what the collectable looks like and who drops it...

wow! thanks for all the replies!!
Ok, some answers:
- I have allready included the sorrow's furnace collector. His name is Molenin, and he collectos 5 enslavement stones for 1 scroll of Adventurer's Insight. But since I don't have a map of SF, I only added him in the results for scrolls of adventurer's insight in the collector finder. But, I might get me a map of SF from the net, and just add it anyway
- The background is the same as my guilds website, but there the windows are fixed sizes, so now you get repetition of the image, which can indeed be annoying. I'll see to it that it gets better.
- I won't make a greens list, since there are allready maps with bosses, what elites they have and what greens they drop. Let that be someone elses project ^^ I do have a social life too you know hehehe.
- A friend of mine suggested more info on the drops as well, so I thought of linking to wiki too. There's a lot of collectible drops though, so it might take some time to add, but it's not a bad idea to make links to wiki with info on the drops.
- I'll try the firefox fix, sent to me by imkey. I'll send the .htm files to Inde, and after he (she?) has updated the CF, you can try if it works. Or maybe I'll just install FF and see for myself... Anyway, I'll look into it
Keep the replies coming ^^
*edit*:
- sorrow's furnace map added
- background fixed (I hope it's better now)
- installed firefox, changed the html sourcecodes as Imkey said, and it seems to work now.
Only thing left to do is make the links to wiki, but I think I'll procrastinate that a bit
Will send the new files to Inde, so everything will be updated on the Guru website.

Oh and in results page and wicked cool map, include the name of the collector, as some locations have as many as 3 collectors...

On your Collectors of Pre-searing Ascalon, you called the seeds that are for the shirt/cuirass/etc. you called it Abnormal Seeds, they are called Unnatural Seeds. Please fix this error. >=O
