Kuntz might not update. Now I cannot speak for him...but anet is purposely trying to prevent anything from editing the .dll they do have a reason. It may not be to prevent mods like this. But if it is anets wishes to not have the dll messed with he might just think about respecting their wishes.

@Braxton: I do believe thats what flubbers link was intending to show....

Actually one reason is bots. A lot of GW bot apps was the graphics.dll file.

Anet needs to add the option into the game itself if they blocked this :/

I got a nice idea that might provoke that. Say we start with a thread for "ugly-ass" armors and make posts with pics of your warrior (or anyone else) with their low res detail. When that gets closed (I'm looking at you mods), we get others around this community in other sites to adopt the same and build up on it till it boils over. Maybe this is the only way they'll ever be encouraged to fix this when it gets around to places like Massively.com and they start comparing details. I'm sure Anet wouldn't feel pleased with being the laughing stock over something as simple as this.

Of course this depends on you guys.... No really, it does.

I don't think that's a very good idea.

Counter-proposal: I have another idea. Create a TexMod package with every possible armor and dye combination to substitute all the low-res textures. Report back when you're done.

Or you could post a request on the wiki feedback space.

We need kuntz intention of action about this before we can figure out a solution. If he doesn't want to update it then we could be on our own and must find other means of implementing the file. Before I try to do anything, though, I'm going to wait and see what kuntz has to say about this and if he wants to fix it or not.

LOL, i'll get back to you on that one...

@topic...

Sucks people ruin good stuff with bots, and people just looking to play with enhanced textures "the good guys" have to suffer.

LOL! That would be quite a bit of work trying to get all the armors figured in now wouldn't it? I've had a different idea that could make a file for it similar to ksmod, but it still filters the graphics to remain in high res. I don't know the possibility of ever doing that, but even then we still have the issue that texmod still has some nagging issues as far as it's comparability is concerned.

As for the wiki, I wonder how often they get back to you on this?

I don't know if ANet ever replies to suggestions on the wiki, but they do read them, or some of them. It couldn't hurt to make the suggestion there, especially when Kuntz has shown it is possible for the game to display the high res armor textures. I checked, and someone has already made a suggestion here.

TexMod is not a legitimate option. You are both correct that proposal was a joke.

Wish A-net would add a checkbox or drop down option in graphics menu for high res. armours, also higher shadow res. would be nice.

That would be nice, but that would require an update. Changing appearance took about 3 or 4 years, pet storage took 2 to 3 years. Better trade channel was... never.

I'd say the request for high res armor would take anywhere from 3 years to infinity, counting from this moment, if we go by previous requests as an indication.

So that's 2013 at the earliest, but it could also be the year 3476. Yay.

They're probably thinking 'you guys will get high res armor in GW2 anyway'.

My two cents, use a .dll injector (if they work with GWs).

If you can find a working one, you will still be able to use this mod.

Also, if you go to Gaile Gray's wiki feedback, she was asked if forcing a .dll was against the EULA, and has not yet responded. Her answer could possibly put this mod into the "illegal" section, which is sad because it was a really nice mod.

I am pretty sure this mod still works fine, I don't have GW installed anymore to check it though. DLL injectors take 3 seconds to make so that wont be an issue. I still have the original injector I used for G-Stats.

Now, if only someone could name a safe DLL injector that is 100% secure. ^^
