GW Antique Map
Living up to my toy-maker nature, I've been tinkering around with a GW project over the past couple of weeks. What kind of project? Why, a cartography project! And one that doesn't involve wall scraping!
I've created an antique map for GW, in the style you often see the LOTR world brought to life through. The full resolution piece will allow for a poster sized print of 28"x54" at 300 dpi (71.12cm x 137.16cm). This file is of course a bit hefty, and I would highly recommend not downloading it unless you intend to make a full poster-sized print.
However, I have two smaller sizes which I'm putting up for your downloading pleasure.
Nifty things to note:- The compass is not only a compass, but also an astrology-type wheel, fitting in the gods with their respective seasons and months.
- Each of the gods has been given a seal on the map which roughly reflects its spheres of influence within the world.
- There are no names written on the map. Rather, towns are marked by the guild symbol, or closest representation thereof, of their controlling factions.
GW Antique Map - Reasonably sized - 1050x2025 - 3.04 MB
GW Antique Map - Print Preview - 2100x4050 - 12.1 MB
GW Antique Map - Poster Print - 8400x16200 - 389.35MB

Fabulous work! Just like the old Renaissance astrology maps.
The Spheres of Influence are a nice touch.

I went ahead and put a link to the print file in the OP after all.
Thanks for the kind words! I'm not sure how many hours were put into this, as I tend to lose track of time while working. However, I do know that I worked on it for a span of 14 days.

LOL Thanks. There's that pesky little thing called copyright though. However, I honestly wouldn't mind if ANet sold it. It would take out the middleman of needing to hassle with a print shop yourself (and all the issues that come with coordinating colors so the print version looks like the digital one).
I've also got this little image in mind of how nice it would look as a cloth wall scroll... I would buy that in an instant if ANet were selling it, despite how backwards it sounds to pay money for your own artwork from someone else.

Thats seriously cool however you about to cost me a lot of money.
I've been asked by the latest guild wars fanatic (my GF) who on her first game not only got a black dye drop but played for 13 hours with out a break (as i said shes a fanatic) what the size of the poster print is when at its best settings she has this idea of getting it printed to a huge size (apparently about 1 quarter of our sitting room is going to have the print on it) at the local staples and then detailing the outposts and some of the continent coast line in gold leaf then getting it framed. shes also talking about trying to get it done on parchment.
man your maps seriously cool but its going to bankrupt me.

be great printed as a standard large wall-scroll. Not that crappy hanky we got in the factions CE but a real 30" x 60" one

wow! that's really amazing. I think it would look really cool as a cloth print. I like how you designed the canthan calendar in the corner there, btw. Really really cool.
