I don't think it matters, only to the survivor him/her self. Who is gonna ask "how'd you do it"!... its just that you have it.

yes it takes a lot of time and effort... but how can he say whats the point of farming... anyone who wants to waste their time can do that. Farming it or not if you get title. Why does it matter how you get it.

Farming for xp is like buying game money from ebay. You have it...why does it matter how you got it?

well its obviously hte easiest with a Monk.
I started a monk - twice now... it seems i get lazy and start talking to my guild... next thing i know i forgot to reapply breeze....
My philosophy on it is- having a low level monk is nice for recruiting... so when I feel like working on adding new ppl into the guild (usually a waste of money...) I just load her up and grab some xp points at my lesiure.
with how easy Factions is, its MUCH easier to get Survivor - if i lose out on 5 hours, no big deal... gives me some more monastary credits too, which helps for some passive money making.

Survivor (1) on my ritualist (Died in arborstone @222k) and my mes (No deaths around 300k, about to get kurz 15k). Henched most things, mes is a bonder so many people like having it around.
Survivor 1 is very easy to get when starting in cantha, just kill the low level monsters solo or with a healing henchy and use scrolls. Then do all of the quests to hit lvl 20 fast.
Trying to find a guild that FF's via the Factions scouting quest, 2k exp, 150 coins, 400 faction, <5mins (solo, faster with more). It's actually comparable to AB. Then donate the faction gained this way to the guild. Really looks like getting tier 3 is incredibly hard without having help.

I started a survivor R/Mo a few weeks ago (don't play her as much as I'd like to ) but figured since whenever I've done missions the rangers seem to survive longest (whilst the monks get picked on from the start) it might be a good prof to use. So far so good, lvl 16 achieved with no accidents and no leaving parties (although my guildies are immensly helpful and understanding lol. They'd better be. It's my guild )
My plan was to do the missions but leave the bonuses for XP later on when it might be harder to find. However, I'm in 2 minds about the Factions ones - when I've played them before, they do seem harder than Prophecies (well, to stay alive anyways) and only 1 other guildy has it so not much support there.
Question: do they get easier with experience (so should I practice with non-survivors) or are they actually more difficult? I soooo don't want to start from scratch but the XP from Factions is just so tempting...

Well, I failed my 3rd and best attempt at survivor, just a measly 22k exp from it!
I'm verrrry angry right now, it was a stupid mistake. I was just about to log off, and I got semi-spiked, and poof, it was over. So, on to try number 4, a mesmer!

In Cantha, getting to LVL20 takes approximately 6-7 hours. It's easy...beyond easy. While in tyria most quests are generally around 500xp or so reward, cantha has rewards of 2-3k xp with each. The quests are easy, and there are a lot of them on noob island that will help you get to lvl20 fast. I generally get off of noob island at around lvl15 or 16 after doing all the quests, 17 if i've used any scrolls. Then you can run to kaineng or get someone to run you there. Grab some henchies and hit the Byway. there are a lot of quests you get from Kaineng that you can complete as well as quests you get out in the byway. *Do not do the Brother Tosai quest* as you'll piss off the Am fah and have a lot of trouble walking around. There are a lot of quests where you just run around and talk to random people, get a tattered bear from a chest that has no enemies....yada yada yada....easy...

The quests aren't a problem but sooner or later I'm going to have to go for the missions since the storyline is such that I can't advance without doing them. Trouble is, I've only ever done them once before (I got bored of Factions very quickly lol) and I seem to recall they're toughies... If you're like me and stumble your way through them cos you've never done them before, anyway lol
I guess more research is needed on GuildWiki
Anyone got any other useful sites for mission walkthroughs?

Survivor 1 is so easy to get in cantha. very very very easy. I've earnt it over 10 times in all, on every profession. (I start characters alot. I just can't decide what i want atm... weird eh?)
Survivor 2 was also reletivly easy, Elite skill capture ftw! I was there with my monk before harvest temple (not sure exactly where.) i would of had s3 i am sure, but i died.... in a cut scene..... the last one..... grrr... killed by some ***** rt spirit when i had low health.
Anyway. my advice is pretty much the same as every one elses. but i want to say this, staying alive is easy for any profession if you are not stupid. Know your limits, take your time and know when the fight is lost. when it is lost, run.
If you are unable to do any of the advice posted then just remember, alt f4 is your emergency escape route. (I never used this tbh but i thought about it a couple of times... and once on an assassin i wished i did, meh, never mind, no s3 for you assy girl.)
Yeah, so good luck if you're going for it.

As a kurizck, the fastest way to max out this title is get to Lutgardis and be a doorman in faction farms. You gain 2k exp every ~2 minutes and you can get your Friend of The Kurzicks title while you do it.

Got it just for fun on a "storage" character lol I guess it makes a change from the many dead assassins that litter Factions hee
Wonder if there's a Legendary assassin somewhere (who wasn't power levelled or run everywhere).. that would be quite something.
That said, I still wouldn't take Survivors with me in my party, unless they were guildmates - the whole "quit if you're getting beaten up" advice can and will get abused.

This would allow all your charaters to gain this title with out having to remake them all.

That would be stupid. Than you could die all you want until you max out your character and then head for title... where's the challenge. This title is another form of Hardcore mode, and HC always started from lvl 1.

I got survivor on my minion master not long ago. It's not as easy as you guys are making it sound, and it's very stressfull getting near the end and being paranoid lol. Anyways here's a couple of tips on how I did it.
Well being an MM didn't hurt as I was rarely hit and when I was if I just stepped back a bit my minions would take the heat. Not to say I didn't have a couple very close calls..
1. Don't do captured son quest. sure it's possible to do it and not die but it's not the risk you wanna take during this hope for survivor.
2. Know when your beat and log out. I had to do this once in the last mission which pissed me off, and once during that quest where you kill the captain.
3. Buy the best armour from each town as you get there helps alot.
4. Do all secondary quests besides cap son and possibly the one right near it with the rit boss.
that's about it.. I didn't use any scrolls or have anyone help me you just need to do all your quests in the beginning island and a couple once you get to marketplace. Best thing is to play smart and don't just rush in..
My advice is to just not bother as it get's very stressfull near the end and who really cares about the title? I usually see someone with survivor title and assume they got mad help from there guild even though I did it solo it's just something you end up thinking naturally.

Ive heard stories going both ways, does anyone have a screen shot of them with the survivor title after they type /deaths and have at least 1 death and the title.

Once you get the survivor title you can die a million times and still have it show up as survivor. You unlock it once you get to it with 0 deaths, and it won't be taken away if you die.

Great guide. Might try it out if I get bored any time soon, just to get something to boast about around the guild. I've only seen 2? survivors ever. Neither of them wanted to talk. >.>

the only time i've seen a survivor title was when i was leveling my bro up, which isn't very legit.
My point: ask for favors before giving them
no really
My real point: very hard to get a legit survivor title and even harder to prove u did. Not something u should shoot for unless u just got an empty slot and want a hobbie between farmin fow and doin hoh

mmmk...question for all the doubters...
What would be proof enough? I just got to LVL 1 again on my newest ranger...and before i start doing all the quests and getting the hp in a legit way...what would be enough proof that you would believe that someone didn't farm the shit out of it?
Screenshots with henchies for every completed quest? I can do that. Screenshots of me beating my doppleganger? In Dunes of Despair killing a worm? A screenshot of ever boss killed and capped? What exactly would be enough proof of a non-farmed title?
