just as a warning, please take a very very close look as that what you're downloading from that site. I'm pretty sure 95% of the stuff you can download from argos is malware and keyloggers. Even though I personally haven't downloaded and experienced anything from this site, I got this piece of advice from a friend I really trust and he had problems with this site before, so I'll give a fair warning, make sure you triple check anything you download from there.

Dude!
I've asked for this a long time ago to be implemented at the Armorers, so that you could get a preview of each piece of armor and mix them before purchasing them.
Luckily my other suggestions of adding Lucky/Unlucky points to lockpicks and the Dye display were accepted and impletemented.
My hat is off to you guys! Now I just wish we had this 6 years ago lol

As much as I'd like to use this, I'm not going to just run an .exe off a website. Please provide the source code as well and then maybe.
To anybody considering using this: a program that runs alongside GW can very easily grab your login and do whatever it wants with it. Use at your own risk.

This is why you should copy (ctrl+c) and paste (ctrl+v) your passwords instead of putting them in manually, just one precaution I always take to prevent any possible keyloggers from getting my info. That, and google chrome remembers all of my passwords for me on websites and such.

Wait a minute, you have all your passwords written down in a document on your PC?
If I was overly cautious about keyloggers i'd use the onscreen keyboard to login and i'd move it to a random spot on the screen every time to avoid any mouse tracking software.
But i'm not overly cautious, I just type it in.

This.
We also don't know how the interaction with the game client works.

A friend of mine used this yesterday and nothing has happened to him. Just saying, haven't decided if I'm going to use it myself yet

This is nice and all, but I just can't see this being completely harmless. Especially with it being an .exe that could really do anything it wants to my computer by me double-clicking.
"Hey GWDressUp! *double click*"
"HAHAHA YOU FOOL YOUR COMPUTER AND PERSONAL INFORMATION IS MINE"

Can anyone verify if its a safe program to run?, I'd really like to preview my armor choices. I just feel uncomfortable running an .exe program

you won't be able to know it's safe or not safe for sure no matter how many tries you take. I warned you at the beginning of the thread, and so did others after me. It's up to you if you take it or leave it; as for the people that haven't had anything happen so far, you can't be sure upon the first day of using it that the hackers got your info or whatever. Just be extra careful.

It's not just about security of your personal information.
I'd be more concerned about the possible consequences of a 3rd party program interacting with the game client in some unknown way.
I suspect this .exe relies on packet interception or injection to work...

I think the main question to be asked is... Is it "legal" with gw.. do they have a problem with us using it etc.

As I see it, it's not so much alters gw directly, but moreso hooks into texmod to get things done, which does the actual changes. texmod has always been ok'd.
edit, typosss

This program doesn't hook into Texmod at all. Argos just used it as an analogy. I'm pretty sure ArenaNet does NOT tolerate this kind of program.
