Default Mapping Out by Aylee Sedai

This tool is courtesy of Aylee Sedai of La Ruota Del Tempo, check out the features below in this external map:
  • It's completely free
  • Complete database of ELITE skills (Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall)
  • Complete database of COLLECTORS (Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall)
  • Complete database of unique GREEN ITEMS (Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall)
  • The software DOESN'T need an internet connection.
  • The software DOESN'T need GuildWars launched.
  • Maps of the regions and location of the specified object on the map.
  • Easy filter to find out quickly the searched elite, collectors or green item.
  • I added also the capabilty of creating your personal character and mark for each character, which elite skill has been already captured and which not.

Download it here: MappingOut v4.0.0

Updated: 10/19/08

Updates:

- Added personal notes. Everybody can now insert their own annotations to the maps
- When you hover over a square, the information pop-up of the skill etc is automatic. Right click is no longer needed (by udoh)
- fixed wrong locations of "Shield of Judgement" (by udoh)
- added the internet update functions! (still under development, with Didimo, but already working!!)
- fixed collector's material request. Now it shows also the quantity.
- if "Elites" check is not selected, it no longer displays the elite stats in the information window
- made it possible to see greens on the map, without showing also the elite skills (by firefoxx666)
- fixed the error caused by lower screen resolution (by Thargor, Dirty Savage & Lothlorian Sassun)
- moved the legend on another windows, so that it no longer takes up a lot of primary window
- fixed the modify/delete bug int the character list (by KiyaKoreena)
- Added the number of items listed to every lists (Elites, Collectors, Greens)
- Added into legend the description for non-boss and boss with no elite

- fixed the stats of "Ravaging Daggers" dropped by "Ravager of Dreams" in Depths of Madness
- Added Razakel boss position in Domain of Secrets, and its own elite Corrupt Enchantment
- Updated stats for unique green item: Amiresh's Piety (thanks to Khonan [GdT])

It sounds cool but it doesn't work for me.

I extracted the zip to a separate folder and tried running the exe and I get a runtime error '76' Path not found.

Are there any specific instructions such as where you should unzip the files?

You got the "Runtime Error 76" because you moved the MappingOut.exe file ouside of the MappingOut folder. It needs to remain inside the main MappingOut folder to run properly.

Your MappingOut folder should contain the following files (do not move them or it will not run properly):
  • Campaign.00.Core (Folder)
  • Campaign.01.Prophecies (Folder)
  • Campaign.02.Factions (Folder)
  • Campaign.03.Nightfall (Folder)
  • Data (Folder)
  • Personal (Folder - created once you start adding your characters within the application)
  • MappingOut.exe

Thank you. Your suggestion helped me figure it out.

It was user error. I actaully only extracted the exe. I had to delete the folder and extract again from scratch.

Sorry Blair3175, I'm not very good at english and I think I haven't understand your post very much.
Forgive me if I misunderstood what you were trying to say, but It seems you didn't launch the program at all. The only colums I can imagine are those in the TXT files. You aren't supposed to open those files. You should unzip all the content of the zip file and launch "mappingout.exe".
Moreover, if you have already modified some txt files, I suggest you to delete the folder and unzip the files again.
Let me know if this is the real problem, and forgive my awful english.

May the light shine on you.

Excellent tool. I noticed you have the stats of the green items in a text file and it is possible to filter by keywords in their description - however, I am unable to view the stats of a green through the program itself. Am I missing something or has this not been included?

Actually, green items are yet included in the program. They appear in the elite/boss information window. Just click on a green item in the list and then right click on the flashing green mark on the map. You should see the green item information at the bottom of the little semi-transparent window.
Otherwise... I did something wrong

May the Light shine on you.

This program is excellent. No more hopping around guildwiki to find boss locations for capping runs. If only there were an option to check off collected greens like there is capped elites, then it would be perfect.

Thank you Aylee, that works. However, I would prefer a way of seeing this information in a list or table. Perhaps this could be added in a later update?

Awesome tool! I love it already and have all my characters added and updated.
I do have one problem though. I can't seem to run it in window mode, it comes up in fullscreen and when i use the icon to switch it to windowed mode i get the following error.
Run-time error '380': Invalid property value
When I click on "OK" in the error window the program closes. This isn't a big issue but is there any way it can be switched to run in a window so I can move it to my second monitor so I can see it while playing GW?
Thanks for any help, and again GREAT JOB and thanks for sharing this with us!

What the heck am I doing wrong? I unzipped the files to my desktop. All required files are in the newly created folder. Open the folder, click on the MappingOut.exe and I get this:

Run time error '380'

Invalid property value

Anyone?

Thargor,
your totally right! Probably you have a screen resolution of 800x600 or even lower. It's my fault. I didn't test the program on lower resolutions than mine. I did it right now, and discovered the error you just pointed out.
In the next update, I'll correct this problem.
Thanks for drawing my attention to it!

AC10,
I understand what you mean. It could be usefult to have a simple table, listing all unique items... I added it to the unended list of "to do"!
(actually now I'm thinking about the capability of adding personal notes and an internet update function...).

May the Light shine on you.
