BEATING MONK DOUBLE in less than 10 seconds.
I actually beat my double in 5-7 seconds and received 50,000 xp, roughly 1/3 of my total xp at the time. I was 19th level at the time. I don't know how many levels I went up, went from 125k xp to about 175k.
Here is the strategy I used:
MAX SMITE and put everything else at 1 attribute point.
Balthazar's Aura,
Symbol of Wraith
6 other skills that are high mana and LONG casting times. LONG casting times being critical over mana used.
NO HEALING SKILLS!!
Once the duel starts, rush him and cast Balthazars and Symbol and then attack with your rod/staff. My double cast Balthazars but then tried to cast a Ranger spirit spell or something, but died before or about the time he got it casted. I had 6 spirit spells due to the long cast times. Honestly I wasn't paying attention to him it went by so fast and I was watching my health bar.
I was successful my first time doing this method, no guarntees but it worked for me!

If only we had the "RESTART PC" Skill and the "Mom's Calling You For Dinner" Skill. That'd do it!
(sorry.. couldn't resist! Great suggestions btw Keep it up!)

I tried just loading my bar with sacrifice skills and Awaken the Blood on my necro, and I was disappointed. The mirrior used Awaken the Blood, Blood Renewal, and Enfeebling Blood, then proceeded to hack at me vigorously with an axe till I died. He bit the dust himself from the degen he got from Chiblains, but I still lost.
My solution: Bring Insidious Parasite and Spiteful Spirit {E} and pump up those curses! Grab Defile Flesh for its 20% sacrifice. Then, of course, bring Awaken the Blood and Enfeebling Blood. DO NOT bring Blood Renewal (big sacrifice, but regen+healing too).
I found that he will NEVER use Signet of Agony, Verata's Sacrifice, or Blood of the Master, even if they are the only skills on your bar. He'll just smack you around with his axe and laugh at you. He occasionally uses Chiblains if you have it, but only if you get up close to him. He loves to use Awaken + Enfeebling Blood, which is nice.
At the beginning of the fight, you'll both lay on Insidious Parasite and Spiteful Spirit on each other. Grab Enfeebling Blood and Awaken. Both his hexes will wear off a lot quicker than yours will, if you get curses up enough (mine was at 16). He'll probably cast Awaken the blood and enfeebling blood right after that. You could throw on an Enfeebling on him if you'd like, though it'll cost you some health (maybe bring both Enfeeble and Enfeebling Blood, and use Enfeeble) Go in close to him and then start strafing left and right, so that he has to move to hit you but you don't get critted. Whenever he hits you, he'll take about 58 damage and you'll be healed for 21 (at 16 curses). Keep dancin' and he'll be dead before you know it.

way to do it. before last pedastal to activate mesa, cast diversion and skip the scene. since diversion gives u a 75% chance to block, then cast empathy. cast diversion again and run back and forth dodging his arrows. keep casting diversion and empathy as needed. still had almost a full health bar left...
edit. this tactic can work with all mesmers or anyone with mes secondary. relatively easy fight. a guildmate did it using these tactics at lvl 12

I believe you mean distortion, not diversion.
Apologies for the double post.

Hey
I walked in with my R/N Demon Rebel... Had some useless spells like soul feast, ignite arrows, and just my basic Ranger setup to that point. He hit me a couple times with the axe and died in roughly 9 seconds - major breeze... now if all my chars could have it so easy.
The Mo/W had it a little tougher, with the right setup she trashed him in a little bit longer I think 30+ seconds, frenzy, smite, bane signet, holy touch and banish. Banish is my favorite spam hit, though it doesn't have the double hit when foe is attacking like Smite does.

Well, i managed somehow to kill him (R/Mo), with 3 nature rituals (doesnt matter which ones), Troll Unguent, Symbol of Wrath, Penetrating Attack, Savage Shot and Dust Trap. He started off with all the nature rituals, while i rushed in and pulled off SoW. Of course, he was not close enough, so it didnt work. While he still was using the rituals, i just started pummeling him with arrows. He used Troll unguent, and i disrupted it with savage shot. After 2 disrupts i just finished him off. The only damage i recieved, was from one bow shot.

its easy if you a necro.. just take all sacrifeing spells and awaken the blood... (and vampric gaze)
use awaken the blood and vampric gaze ONLY your DG will use most of the sacrifing spells and ATB and will kill himself... easy way for necro's to ascend.

I managed to pull off a Me/R win without using Nature Rituals =P
Brought Spirit of Failure, Shatter Enchantment, Channeling, and had more or less a blank skillbar from there. I think I might have used Arcane Echo off the bat to get another Shatter, but I can't quite remember.
Pumped Domination, Marksmanship (for a good bow) and Inspiration, naturally.
Channeling was a dummy skill, he'll use it whenever he can - past that, I merely used Shatter and Spirit, and hoped I got lucky with Spirit of Failure's 25% miss chance as I traded shots. Shatter put me over the top the second time I tried it.

for my ele i used meteor shower+fire storm+fireball+flare
cast meteor shower first then just keeping moving around and cast fire strom move some more(moving is for dodging the AOE's) and firebal+flare=dead
monk i used, sever artery, gash, pure strike, banish, balthazars aura, healing breeze, orison of healing; when i did it he was stupid and basically did nothing might be differnt for u
anybody who is mesmer or /mesmer just take alot of useless hexes or spells + backfire, channeling, and shatter enchatment
add all points to domintaion cast backfire on him first, he should use channeling and after backfire is off use shatter enchat to kill

I just killed the doppleganger with my Ele today, using only Meteor Shower and Firestorm.
But wait, the doppleganger runs away from AoE's now!
...but not when they're busy casting their 4-5 second AoE's. When your AoE's are recharging, wand-spam for the win.

I did it in about 45 seconds with my R/Mo. Didn't use a single Ritual, and only needed 3 skills. Mending, Protective Spirit, and Distracting shot. I put on mending before the fight started, and as soon as it did, I fired distracting shot, which stopped him from using it, and then cast protective spirit. After that, it was just a simple waiting game of attacking him, keeping spirit up, and using distracting shot when he tried to use mending. Worked for me.

you people REALLY exaggerate the ele Dopp.
-take Fire Storm and Meteor Shower (in that order, he'll do storm first)
-if you arent pyro, switch out, you can always go back to your previous element.
-when you go in, hit SHOWER first, it'll keep him busy while he tries to use storm.
-once he gets storm out, just move, and cast it youself
-strafe left and right to avoid arrows and watch the fireworks fly as the 50,000xp floats from your head
this took me a total of about 9 seconds, you dont need any worthless skills or Aura, just a couple good AoE's and your wand/staff and you're good to go
kk thx bye
