Since the latest update to guild wars, I can't get ksmod nto patche an already running game, it just tries to start a new copy of gw and of course fails because it cannot access gw.dat.

mine comes up saying
Unable to open archive file
guild wars is unable to access its archive file f:\guildwars\gw.dat. please verify that this file is accessible and writeable and no other program is currently using it.

Make sure your running Ksmod as admin and that its in the right gw folder and what not.

I got it working. Stupid mistake on my behalf. I had GW already open in normal mode not thru ks. i just closed it and opened it thru ks and it works.

This is still not as it should be. KSMod used to "patch" an already running game, but it no longer seems to do this (you need this to use texmod with ksmod). I can only get it to work by using a separate copy of gw.dat

Not to be a pain, but I wanted to ask about the status on missing icons? I've been using KSMod for over a year and never ran into the problem until a few weeks ago when I switched the virtualization option on.
Immediately I noticed that one of the weapons that drops on my normal farm run was missing its icon - which was odd, but didn't bother me. Then some odd armor pieces went missing, minis, quest items, and ofc more weapons. Some stuff is new like the new wintersday hats, but just as much is old (factions starter ele aura, rit shing jea armor, random eotn weapons, most 3rd year + minis).

I don't mean to complain, I totally love KSMod, and that option is extremely convenient. But the bug is really really bad, and I suppose you could say I'm concerned. :/

Sorry guys, I forgot about KSMod !

At this point I do not see myself having time/effort to put into this mod or fixing the bugs.

As for not being able to attach anymore, or to TextMod clients, can someone confirm that this is the case? I don't have GW installed so if someone could test whether I need to update KSMod for a new major build of GW.

And once again, KSMod will always come up as a virus since 80% of the API it uses viruses use as well. Generally speaking, any process that contains code to modify any other process usually gets labelled a virus, regardless if that code is malicious or not.

When ever I run the 3.2 ksmod, it loads the GW patching screen and dl a bunch of files. Once that is down, it just exits Guild Wars.

I have the HD textures and -image command.

Thats the -image command....for updating all tyeh game files...

Remove "-image" to actually PLAY the game

Image just tells the client to download any textures/sounds/etc that your gw.dat may be missing. Normally it does this on its own in the background, but -image forces it to do it right now and all at once. (Say you blew up your hard drive, downloaded the client, and want to let it download the entire game while you go to bed or something.)

I just wanted to thank you Kuntz for the work you've done over the past couple years with this patch. Since the latest update made it irrelevant, this whole time it was your mod that filled the gap and I can't appreciate enough what it's done for us.

Btw, I still miss the UT sounds.

Thanks guys! I've known about the update for a while and I've already updated KSMod to remove the texture feature while keeping the others. When Izzy gets around to remembering the login details of his site/ftp I'll upload it!

Multi-clienting is still a need, and I like this program over the others as it works off a single install. Hoping we get some more command-line options next update (i.e. different commands for different instances)

The web site blew up. The hosting company gives their "blerp derp pay us now" page, so it can't be downloaded at the moment. Can anyone upload a copy to Mediafire or provide an alternate link? I'd like to try the new virtualization feature without the badness of having to copy GW.dat.
