What Would You Appreciate More, Wards or Protections?
I've been struggling with this idea a lot and I can't make up my mind. Monk or Elementalist?
I'm playing a Necromancer and my goal is to have good single target damage to drop enemies ASAP while never having shortage of energy, but with some good support skills as well.

Armor of Earth is an excellent self protector, at the 10 in Earth Magic I would have it would add a little over 40 armor. The wards are nice as well, because they protect the whole team and cannot be removed.
But the Monk's Protection line also looks appealing. Being a monk secondary I would have access to Remove Hex, and Resurrect, along with Aegis, Guardian, Pacifism, Reversal of Fortune, and Shielding Hands. I have no experience using any of these Monk spells, so I'm not sure.
So really, which would you appreciate more? The wards are a lot more stable and help the whole team, and Armor of Earth looks better than any of the protections for keeping *myself* alive. But the Protections seem like they would be a great deterrant to focus fire no matter who the target is, because I can cast a couple on a teammate and it will make it a lot harder to take them down. Yet, they are easily removed so I'm not sure.
Thoughts?
