An ingame tool to help tests builds in real situations
Here's an idea from GWOnline forums that popped into my head. While talking about monks and their fight against their mirrorself, I said this:

It's really about working out a strong and dependable strategy.
For Monks I think the best thing to do, like I did, would be to scrap the healer build (temporially), and use your secondary class.
I imagine you could pull it off with a straight monk build, but I'd be much simplier and easier to just make a solid plan, test it, work out the kinks, then when you build him bring him back to what he was before, and learn alittle more about the posibilities of your build.
I think it's a great way to experiment, atleast for certain conditions.
I think there should be some kind of tests that you can do. Like a time trial for a monk to see how long you can keep a certain NPC ally alive that has a continuously growing health degen. You could do damage per second, interupts per minute, time knocked down in a minute, etc...
Hall of fame and all that, preferable built into the game.
...I should post that in the suggestions thread...

This was basicly me just typing my thoughts then editing them, but it seems like an intreguing way to test certain aspects of a build, be it PvP or PvE. Could be with a straw dummy (still or animated), that you can chose a test, do it manually, and get a score. If the tests were made right you could test specific aspects of your build.
I'm sure there's tons of other tests you could think of:
-Damage taking, how long you can stay alive with ever increasing damage
-Damage per second to a group of varying sizes.
-Specific tests, like damage that only your basic attack compared to skill damage.
-repeatable enviroment, so that you could test which equipment setup does best when under real fire.
-etc...
What do you think? Could work, or horribly bad?
PS: You could have internationnal rankings and regional rankings, hourly rankings, etc... Something to keep you busy if PvP isn't going your way or your just not interested in PvP in general.
PPS: Would be easy to implement because there's little graphics work, maybe a bit of new interface and some scripting, which is done beautifully in this game I might add.
