Great Idea
Finding people in towns was a real chore for me. How about the ability to double click on someones chat message and it will highlight that person's name in a different color so you can find the person who said "looking for group" or "charr carvings for sale".
I know you can double click the name and send them a message and talk to them, but if you dbl click a name and it changed color so when you ctrl you can see that name in the mass of confusion, would save a ton of time and chat on where are we meeting ? where are you ? i was at the fire, now im at the outfitter.
Also a spectrum of colors for what race characters are so as your running around town you could spot character types, or if they were, or were not in a group already. So if i was looking to add a WA/MO to our group i could look around the town in a 360 swing and tell A. who is what, and B. who isnt in a group already.

All for the highlighting that persons name in a different color so they are easier to find. Maybe another color dot on the mini-map. So basically the first half of your post is a great idea!

That'd be pretty cool.
Also, people in your guild should appear green and your friends should appear... er... I dunno... pick a color.

i dunno what should change really, but something about the friendslist just bugs me...there should be more benefeits such as maybe knowing what district they are in, that is if you are on theirs too, that way itd be easier to meet up.

Really good idea. Anything that makes people easier to find and team up with is a plus. As for adding more benefits to the friend list, I think quite a few people have mentioned that they'd like to be able to know where their friends are. I'd also like to see the option to click a "go-to friend" button, to join them automatically, as long as they're in a place that you've been to before.
I'll throw something else in there, too: I'd like to be able to invite people to my group by typing /invite <person> rather than having to actually find them and click on them.

along with a better freinds list, when a person adds you to their buddy list it should ask for your permission, like in Gamespy Arcade or something.

Yes I agree! I can't tell you how many times I had to ask my Friends/Guildmates where they were. I ended up getting into other groups, because they were buisy atm, or just somewhere I couldn't get to. I had to interupt them in order to ask, and that made me feel like a intruder. You shouldn't feel like you are being intrusive to your mates like that.

I don't necessarily agree with the second part because it would make the map and mini-map more confusing, like an acid trip. However maybe, like the first part, say you were looking for a monk, you could click a monk and all the monks are now a different color, might be alot of network traffic to list the ones available versus ones in groups etc. But at least could find all the monks by clicking one, or all the warriors etc. and to make it less trouble for Arena.net i'd say base it on primaries. Anyway, then I could go for the second part of his suggestion, with that modification.
Since we can't attack, they could use cntrl-click like targeting in a mission, so normal click isn't affected.

Ok. I got it. Have names on your friends list appear in blue and/or be in a bold font. And when you initially click on the player's name you want to talk to, it will turn green and and an arrow appears over their head until you click on them again or they leave the area. Sound good?
