An auction house is the epiphamy of poor economy in games, players cannot control thier spending or act wisely, shooting off gold without conciquence. It also makes it to easy to acces items related to later areas which players should not have access to.
This game supports completely self sufficient provision and production, adding a Auction House was oviously avoided because of poor mechanics displayed in other Online RPGs.

Just because of what you said, i realize you probably don't trade much, at least during what i call "rush hour". the trade channel is more then spammed. It's trashed... i would be very glad if they implimented an auction house.
I think your ideas are flawed, because armor's are the only thing that make you godlike (and that's not attainable till later in the game, and is customized per character)... since other items need a certain requirement in an attribute... they already thought of things such as that... lower lvls wont gain full benifits from good items. i actually think they will be putting in an auction house... and untill they do ill probably be selling all my major-minor runes for a measly 25 gold to the merchant, cause trading is nothing but annoying right now. Only time i dont sell my crap for measly gold is when i give it away for free to my guild.
**Bottom line. Auction house is a must, and i think they should work hard on it and put it in the next expansion... that way if people really want it, they'll pay for it, at the same time getting all the extra skills/missions/quests/rest of game.**

I personally don't feel a need for an auction house. I realize that people like to spam 3 or 4 times in a row what they are selling and it is at that point I change districts and find one that is less cluttered. Also, I have found later in the game allot of really nice max damage weapons that require very low attributes. I for one can't say that these are meant for higher level characters but I'm sure they are put in later for a reason.

I think we need one, this would stop people from paying out of the ass on ebay for items that look cheap but when you do the math you are paying triple the price. I don't really sell stuff though. I make money farming and just give away all my rares to low level people. Sharing is Caring....alright honestly I'm too lazy to sell stuff.

Judging by the current community..do you really think most people would bother going to an auction house to sell their items? They would still spam in cities.

going out of your way to change a channel just because of spamming is obvious problem for you and the game with an auction house it would eliminate this completely!!

They already begun fixing spammers with the channel timer. People will still spam, the only way to get away from spam is to remove the plug from your computer....or if you have a laptop just pour some water on it, that works too.

I absolutely agree, an auction house is a must. I have heard that the dev's are going to put one in, at a later date, but the sooner the better.
I have had some uber stuff that i could have easily gotten 10x the amount that i get from a merchant, but i didn't want to deal with the idiots who spam the trade channel. So i also just sell my stuff to the merchants for a fraction of what i could get elsewhere.

one thing that should be included in the auction house is trader like guys who you can talk to, set a minimum price that you'll accept, and then give him the item, later someone can come and talk to that guy, and can buy the item, and several items from him, then you recieve messege that someone bought it then you can go and recieve your money from they guy, and add or remove items.

And auction house is a great idea. If you don't like auction houses or the like, there is an easy solution; don't use it. if you want to continue using the current inefficient means of trading and dealing with morons. then by all means, go ahead. For the rest of us that want a real economy, we will go to the Auction House.

The only reason why I would like an auction house is just so that it can get rid of chat spam in towns.
Then again, you can always turn off your trade channel.

I have seen this idea on World of Warcraft but still, this is a great idea, not for trading channel spam, but buying item that you want without looking for it, KNOWING the price how much they are sold. And Sell out what you don't need anymore for a better price dans merchant.

Auction houses have been in before WoW, such as the Bazaar in EQ was the original incarnation and quite good, but a bit inefficient.
Really, there aren't real drawbacks to the Auction House, and turning off trade channel is not a viable solution. The problem comes when you need to sell something, or may want to buy something, you may never find it in that sea of trade chat, it may not be in your district infact, or this town unfortunately, or in any town even.
Economies get ruined one way or another as eventually all earlier items become thrown about for newer replacements, money becomes more frequent, but, a game frequents its own economy for items it can.

While I support an Auction House, there are drawbacks, but nothing really big. There will be a massive amount of inflation I suppose...
