Group forming
Lovely game in so many ways, but the group forming drives me bonkers. It is silly and inefficient and annoying. Come on, what is with having to go into a town and bellow out that you want to join a group over and over and over and over and over? Unless you have friends playing the game, joining a group goes something like this:
1.You walk through some mist into a town and make your way through ten idiots dancing.
2.Then you holler out "W/E lvl 15 LFG for whatsis mission!"
3. Repeat step 2 twenty times
4. Finally someone answers, but just to ask if you know any monks
5. You finally find someone who wants to group, but they want you to come to where they are. By the time you get there, they have found another player they like better (a monk) and have left.
6. Repeat step 2 twenty more times
7. You finally find a group of penis-drawing, mob-charging misfits, and three of them leave the mission halfway through, one because he forgot to pee before we started the mission and two without explanation.
8. You go back to town and start the whole process again
Okay it is a little exaggerated for comic effect but not MUCH.
Why is there not a tent or building in each town for group-forming? Players HAVE to go there to form groups. You could put your name on a list for a certain quest or mission and it would show class and level, and the person forming the group could click on your name to talk to you and invite you. This would eliminate the constant yelling and misunderstandings. This is, in fact a lot more realistic as well. If I want a job I don't go stand downtown and bellow to the general public about my qualifications all day. Silliness!
On a barely related note, I would love it if there was a tent or building where people HAD to go to sell things, like a flea market. Trading in public should be outlawed. People don't use the trade tab to sell things and just spam their offers over and over and over until you can't find anything that might be legitimately interesting in that chat stream. Lion's Arch is a nightmare, like being stuck on the floor at the stock exchange.
BTW...I was kidding about the idiots dancing. I like the dancing in the game.
