This game needs an auction house bad
As you are aware, the market system is a mess. You can't go into the first or second districts of the main towns without having your chat box completely flooded by trade messages. I was wondering if you have plans to alleviate this mess. If not, I would like to suggest an auction house system much akin to Final Fantasy XI. Simply put, you go to an NPC, select the items you wish to sell, and give them an amount. Successful sales put the money in your bank, and if you fail to sell the item within 3 days it is returned to you. This simple system should alleviate most if not all of the market problems. As an added bonus, it'll be easier to see what is for sale if the items are put into catagories in the buy screen. This should also increase competition among sellers and stabilize the market a little. What do you think?

I know they're saving stuff for expansion packs, but they have to realize what a disaster the market is right now. Is it really worth screwing up the game mechanics for the next few months just so they can make people buy an expansion pack they're probably going to buy anyway?

An auction house wouldnt fix the economy problems the prices would still stay the same only people wouldn't have to spam products all the time.

And there is why it is most important. The next reason is because it is extremely hard to sell items....
And what is wrong with the current prices (of everything but sigils)?

Yeah I agree an auction house is much needed. It would save me sooo much time in selling. I could just drop my loot off at the house and be on my way. I wouldn't have to sit in Ascalon City D1 for an hour spamming my crap over and over. It would also make buying much easier.
Why don't they implement this? I mean what is the downside to having an auction house?

1) You spam your items?? Just go to D2 or D3 and, while there are still people, there are many less trying to sell items (all of those people packed themselves in District 1)
2)They are not currently implementing this because they are working on observer mode (pretty sure ). The downside is it takes time to put it in, plus, for some strange reason, all people don't want an auction house (why is beyond me. An auction house is better for BOTH buyers and sellers)

I really dislike the trade system now, but realize that a Commission NPC would require too much server space for a game without a fee. I think that's the main problem here. Instead of using servers to track trade, they let you track your own trade.

Would an auctioneer NPC really take that much server space??
I would have thought that with all the trade spam going over and over that is taking up way more space on the server and can cause serious Lag with all those people in one District.
Also, have you noticed how often District 1 and even sometimes District 2 is hard to get into because they are Full.
It sounds like an Auction house would be a very good idea, and would bring prices down, because sellers would have to compete with each other if they want to sell there goods. Plus, they would have to use it, if they wanted to sell there items, as for one, i know i don't like standing around for ages trying to buy or sell anything. I would rather be out playing the game.
I want to buy a superior Rune. 2 people are selling them. 1 for 10k the other 15k. Then a 3rd person comes along and says, i don't care, here, have mine for 9k.
I know which option i would go for.
