Rune drop suggestions.
Rune drops currently are excessively aggravating. There are numerous posts about the difficulty of finding major and superior runes (I myself have only found 1 major and no superiors), but to add insult to injury of all the minors I have found I have “unlocked” 3 minor death magic runes, 4 minor vigor runes, 3 minor marksmanship runes, 2 minor blood magic runes, 2 minor divine favor runes, 2 minor sword runes and 1 minor healing and 1 cures rune. It is insanely disappointing to a pvper to unlock the same rune over and over when there are countless other that still need to be unlocked. Which brings us to two solutions/changes:
1) Add an algorithm that will not allow repeats of the same class of rune until all runes of that class are unlocked. Thus if had a minor axe rune unlocked anytime I identify a new piece of armor I could not receive a minor axe rune until all warrior minor runes had been unlocked (applying the same logic to major and superior runes).
2) Or another less pvp friendly option (and ironically solo character farming unfriendly, no more W/Mo farmers) would be to only allow runes to be dropped which that character can use. So, for instance in any given map all items which are assigned to my Mo/? and have a rune in them will produce monk runes.
And on one final note, salvaging armor with a rune in it to only get nine iron ingots instead of that rune seems a little cruel, but that is just my opinion.
