An alternative to a Guild Hall
How about having a guild "house" or something to that effect that can be more easily purchased for smaller guilds. Just a meeting place with a centralized vault, etc. Not for PvP. That way, there will still be a desire to get a guild hall, but smaller guilds can have some of the guild interaction that they seek without having to pay 60k-100k for a sigil or doing the PvP. (It would be great for smaller roleplaying guilds)

Even if this were implemented, everyone would still want the hall. because the Guild House would be for those "lame noob" guilds

Exactly. The point is that the smaller guilds could have the benefit of a central meeting place, and demand for the Guild Halls themselves would still be there.

But why would they want one to begin with if they are already saving for the "uber hall"? Because if nobody is interested in using the houses, there is no reason to do the work to implement them

People would use them. If you throw a couple of merchants in there and a centralized bank, people would use them. If you make it the kind of place where the mood of it is : ya, it could be better. It could be a hall, but this will work for now. Then, people will get them. People will use them. And, maybe aquiring a Hall would just upgrade the "Guild House" into the Guild Hall.
To the Developors (a note) : People like customization. Put it in, and this game will go on for a long time. Don't, and you'll soon have an audience leaving in droves.

I see your point, and I suppose it could work.
About the customization, yeah. We are in dire need of more options here

Hell, I'm in a little tiny 'noob' guild. I'm sure we'd use this.

Some people actually have no interest in the PvP factor and would be all too happy to not blow their extra money on a Guild Hall they don't want to defend.. particularly roleplayers. I think it's an interesting idea.. but probably not going to be at the top of a priority list anytime soon. Even so.. I'd get one. ^^ I'm poor.

Ah, but the tent walls are too thin, you're still assulted by all the continuous chatter of all the strangers in the district.
I actually like that idea. We finally got our Guild Hall, but it would have been nice to have a meeting place before we got it.
My other idea would be to allow the purchase of a Guild Hall for some relatively low and fixed amount of gold, but require a Celestial Sigil to "unlock" access to the ladder. Keep unranked GvG available without it, so that guilds can start practicing GvG while waiting for their sigil, and people will enter the ladder at a high quality of play than they otherwise would.
And yes, there definitely needs to be more Guild Hall customization options. And a guild-wide storage vault would be a very welcome addition.

I would use one. It would be nice to have a training center, strategy board, vault and central meeting spot while we're saving up our cash to get a real guild hall...

I like it. I plan to stay in small guilds. Id like smaller hall or house. Even though guild halls are great and all, its just to big for smaller conentrated guilds.
and if possable a and minor league gvg for small guilds only.
like it could have 4 or 6 players 1on1 or 4on4.

Oh my, this sounds so much like how it should be. I think this is the best idea I've heard to help reduce the Sigil's price and would make it so much more affordable for Guilds.

I like this idea a lot. This would be great for people who don't want to worry about the ladder, and I'm sure it would help those on the ladder as well.
I think everyone else has seconded (and thirded ) the other two ideas as well.

A guild house for meeting other idling members of your guild would be a great idea. I've been wanting this for a while now.
Instead of talking in teh guild chat channel trying to find out who's available and who's not, just head over to teh guild house to idle and talk with others. Throw in a storage agent and a merchant for getting rid of the spoils of a long day of adventuring.
Include an invite function so that you can invite non-guild members into the guild house for a visit and for private conversation.
The biggest reason I can think of for not doing this is that every new instance you spawn on their servers takes up that much more of a load on their servers and creates that much more data for them to keep track of.

Bah. Every town has multiple districts, and every area of the game (most of them much larger than a guild hall) has an instance for every single group of players playing. Compared to that, guild hall instances are a drop in the bucket.
I definately like the idea of being able to invite guests into your guild hall.

It would create a sizable load, trust me. Ultimately the game is still a business and it would probably cut into their profit margin by a measurable amount that they don't want to front for the enjoyment of its customers.
Who knows, maybe they will at some point, but this is definitely not a luxury I expect to see from them.

Why would it create load? It's just another instance... Think of how many instances are in play all the time, this is just one more except it's one that all members of your guild can go to.
and to the tent guy!!! that's actually pretty damn clever. It's a good idea.
