it used to show their lvls but that was such agony to bear witness to
seeing 100 people with w/mo lvl 20 above their head was REAL REAL BAD...

I believe he was suggesting the toggle option.
I agree, I think that when you enter a non-mission town, it should be off, and you can press a button to make all levels pop up above their heads. In missions, it will be on by default, and you could press a button to get rid of them.
I'd also like to see other people's levels and profession even when they're in party. Perhaps have it in blue text instead of white.

maybe having a tag similiar to henchman?
a monk can wear [proto monk] [healer monk] [divine monk] [some kinda flamboyant way of saying miscellaneous/jack of all trades monk]
warrior could wear [tank] [punisher] [defender] [fighter] [good ol brawler]
necro [cultist] [zombie lord] [vampire] [wretched]
mesmer [dominatrix] [seducer] [enchanter]
ranger [archer] [trapper] [guerrilla]
elementalist [nuker] [tremor] [ice king] [stormbringer]
these tags are not required OR made by choice <because i don't know how'd they'd make that code>
but be ready for those guys who AREN'T ALWAYS TRUTHFUL..
