I have played Diablo and Diablo 2, both since their releases. So far, I am thoroughly enjoying GW, especially since I have discovered that I make a pretty good healer. I currently have an ele/monk and a mes/ranger, but I'm thinking of deleting the mes in favor of a monk primary.
And in the interests of your topic,
1) I don't want a level cap of 99. That encourages mindless "Baal runs" over & over & over just to be the highest char level.
2) Armor and weapons:
I like the armor as it is. I just wish that my elementalist's armor in Lion's Arch wasn't the exact same as what was offered in Ascalon, with the addition of a couple different sets. Regardless, they all have the same AL to them. I need heavier duty armor and I don't know where to buy it.
For weapons, I think we need more options than just a "customize" that adds 20% dmg. I'm not talking the major weapon upgrades, but the NPC could offer the minor upgrades in addition to the 20%. The price could be increased to reflect the better mods.

I don't know maybe I am just partial to the Diablo 2 and have been looking for a new game that is just as awsome as it was. You know but a little different.

I have always loved Diablo/Diablo II but have not played since I started doing betas on GW back in November. Its a great game but just pales in comparison to Anet's new release!
1. Pointless to have a game this good come out and be all about grinding! That was one reason why they made GW, to make things different and BETTER!
2. Armor selection would be cool to have a bigger selection for but I can't really complain now since I'm a Warrior (primary toon) and have one of the largest selections around.
3. Specialized stuff is great and goes for major gold (if you don't need it) if you know where to post it. I agree with ^^. I think the Weapon NPCs should offer something more than just a 20% damage upgrade. It would make it fun having to choose from a list of possibilities (and keeping it to only one too).

Apples to oranges man, similarities? Yes, but you gotta treat it as its own game or you probably wont enjoy it as much as you could.
Save the judgment till after a few expansions have been released, its my guess that a.net held alot of stuff back on the release, and are not only working on it but adding to it for thier first expansion. The first thing that clued me in on this is the fact that thier already releasing a few new zones next live update.
Give it time, this game will really blossem more then it already has.

I don't like the idea that I"m going to run out of attribute points... but I guess there has to be a limit somewhere or we would become gods. What I so dearly hope to see in an expansion is bigger and more fantastic monsters. I want to see massive monsters, dragons that could eat me up whole and golems that could step on me with a simple squish.
Accompanying this I'd like to see the team size limit increased for major raids (I don't know, but I think it's 8 people max right?) I'd like to see up to 10 or 20 people on a single team and up to 100 people on a single map going after a bad ass monster!

Giant sand worms, bigass Elemental dragons and giants aren't enough for you?
They're all in the game already.

forgive me.... I"m a noob All the monsters I've seen so far are at best twice the size of a person. I've seen the Hydras for a short time, they're kind of big and I'm currently hunting for the ice drake... I guess I was jumping to conclusions because I've never seen any in screen shots, even screens of bestiaries...

This game overcame the beast that is EXP grind from every other MMORPG, that is the most attractive part about this game. If you haven't noticed, the only thing you get from a lvl is extra health and 5 attribute points, and they have earnable attribute points available later in the game, the idea of "Common" lvl is so the pvp gameplay will be balanced and fun, if you have to see 9999 damage over you enemies head to be satisfied then go stick a gameshark in your PS2 and play FFX.
This game involves realistic power and limitations in a fantasy world, the amount of health, the character speciallization, and the limited growth are all parts of realistic gameplay, think of this more like Legend of Zelda and not another MMO or console RPG, having an entire world of super heros is fake anyhow, the gameplay here revolves around the SKILLS you obtain and the efficiency to which you use them.
It would be nice if the lvl cap went up to 30 or 40 in MUCH later expansions, but I think they aught to work with what they got and see if there arn't better ways to expand it first, if they raise the lvl cap over 50, this game will become the same as any other MMO, Grinder.
But hey, if you got a couple hundred hrs to burn, then take up FFXI, they can suck up as many hrs and you can put out

How true is this statment lol. I spent a butt load of time getting my character to lvs 30-40 on all classes. No need for that here

I wouldn't mind seeing slight level ups in later versions, but right now the only thing I really want to see changed is cosmetics regarding the armor. More customization (looks only, the stats are fine) would make this game a dream to say the least...
I expect the expansions they plan on releasing to fill any void in areas to explore, customization of looks, extra skills/classes in due time. Right now I am happy as a clam.

This wouldn't be too bad of an idea. Maybe with each expansion, additional skills and char levels. This might not make the PvP happy though. They'll scream about being forced to grind to unlock skills and level up.

That will be the one problem Guild Wars will face, really drawing in a crowd that says, "why do I need this", without turning the game into a grind and constant clawing for the newest and baddest equipment to stay on the top. I mean, right now all of the skills do something different, and it is difficult to think of what else you really need in there, except removing the differentiation between various spells and skills of various attributes.
Personally though, I would like to see further armor upgrades and various types, like I'd love myself a suit of drakescale platemail as a Warrior, or like Armor of Desecration which protects against holy damage (rather than the reduced resistance to it from Necromancer armor), so forth, as well as various new customizations, upgrades, and strictly types of weapons and shields (especially upgrading shields).

Ok, here is my input on what this guy said..
Lvl 99 game? Yeah that would be fun, and impossible to go above 50 in this game. My opinion? After lvl 20, make the bar have to go 2-4 times through before a level, and after 30, 8-10, and so on. It will make the game long, and if the ever decide to do this, well... that could be in like 3 months, and by them, the game map COULD be filled up. Also, recalling all the manuals would be a must and probably a total char. reset.
Weapon's, I agree on. I know, Blue, Purple, Yellow weapoms are the majority of weapons, but there are no self unique weapons or armor in this game!!! It's just a prefix and a suffix pasted on an item, each of the 2 adding in an effect! Just like Dungeon Seige, accept this database of pre and suf is exactly 366% larger. Let's have some items with "special effects" and special names, like The White Mantel Long Sword, or Glints Inpenitrable Curicass ( except by Loviatar, so dont pvp him with it :P ) or even have an item named after each of the top 3 guilds of the month be added into the game So, *Some korean name* Fiery Dragon Sword, lol.
I played D2 since beta and non stop I have been playing, hacking, selling, pking, rushing, item gardening, pvping, helping, exploiting, exploring, collecting, etc. One of the reasons I liked the game was the item system and how it worked. It was extremly balanced and some how, the games HC feature, etc. made it addictive. I had to repeat grade 11 because of it, but made over 2000$ in Diablo2 items. It was the best year of my life! Yeah, this game should have independant unique items, and even some sort of set activation items! Who knows,,, one day, they could stream up a unique item called "Level 20 Is The Limit Boots" and everyone would find them.
Yeah, some of the things you listed would be great to add in to this game, but I dont see it happening on the first 2 weeks of the game!!!

I'm not realy concerned about the grind, this game fully supports "up and ready" game play, so your not exactly waisting time to get started. But the real reason the "grind" does not matter is because you can make a PvP character at max lvl and use characters with high lvl skills along with any skills you have in your inventory, so I'm not readily concerned about players complaining about EXP grind, and the new skills will be added and hard to find anyways.
But if you get over the top with lvls/health, then lower lvl spells and attacks will never defeat an opponent, so 10 lvls here, 10 there, if it goes over lvl 50 I'll quit because thats is just stupid.

First, if people could only go up to 99, that would still be a level cap. besides, I love the level cap. That's right; LOVE IT. It's really no grind, although I read where some moron said it was. I like to view myself as more of a casual gamer, and there are zero grind problems...
Second, I hope they do add lots of cosmetic things like different looking weapons and armour (or maybe you could customize the look of your own armour for a price!). The stats don't necessarily need changing (plus that leads to balance issues, etc.), but looking almost unique would be cool...

1) Yay for level cap. I hope it doesn't raise, it keeps the game fun.
2) Armour. I don't really want to see better armour, but I would like to see more veriety. It would be interesting if the appearance of armour had a minor change if you added a rune to them.
3) In my opinion, this game (plot wise) was obsenely easy. I bet the game, and I rarely ever had a team which worked well together. I hope future chapters are challenging with good, organized, groups.

A customization system similar to the one in Neverwinter Nights would allow everyone to have unique weapons and armor. I'm not sure how difficult it would be to implement, but it would make your character a little different from all the others.
