I have only seen one or two good ideas based on something from another game. and those were actually based on the idea from teh other game adapted to GW not jsut trying to port it straight.

Suggestions are not simply suggestions. there are suggestions to be constructive and then there is suggestions just to add/remove something for the sake of adding/removing. no improvement they just want change so they can say they suggested it.

In other words, you support free speech only for people you think are as smart and efficient at using message boards as you are, and for only those who see things the way YOU do. It doesn't work that way. Free speech requires putting up with people....all kinds of people.

You are free to dislike what anybody says, and you are free to think others are stupid, but like I said in my original post, it is WRONG to tell people to LEAVE because you don't like what they say or how they say it.

I find your post pretty useless, but I don't want you to leave GW or GWGuru. You have a right to say what you want to say as long as it isn't threatening or against the rules of this particular website. And if I don't like what you say, I don't HAVE to read it.

Do you get what I am saying? I am not saying that the original poster is right, but rather that the people who react to every post they think is dumb by telling that person to LEAVE are wrong.

Intolerance and supression of dissenting opinions, even stupid dissenting opinions, leads to bad things. Even on little message boards.

Main reason being that devs are more likly to visit and see new ideas if they don't have to go thru 5-10 cookie cutter ideas. i'm sure there are those that will agree with me after reading thru the first 20 posts when you come on and nearly 10 of them have the same idea nearly word for word at some point in them just grates on you. at first you try to answer them nicly but after 50 or so times and having to restate the same reasons everytime someone puts up a 'new' thread you are less likly to be as nice. I'm sorry but its true. There is no need for these cookie cutter posts and all it does is push other ideas deeper into the boards. Yes some belong there as the discussion on them is over but others don't get the life they should becuase there is 10 threads all saying the same thing where one highly discussed thread would have been better.

Bad ideas are one thing but repeated, especially massivly repeated, threads are another. I'm sorry but at least in my mind anyone that can't check the first few pages or do a quick search before suggesting/ranting loses some credience in thier arguement. Maybe i do hold people to a higher standard, but maybe the problem isn't i hold them to the higher standard and responsibility for creating a new post is that others have no problem with having a forum where every other thread is saying the same thing. its in a similar mindset as this post http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=2447 i don't think its nessicarily wrong to hold the posters to a higher standard.

yes sometimes my responses are terse and sharp but i don't mean this as a defense its from reading the same idea in the 10th thread topic that night.

and yes i am painfully aware i am keeping some of these threads alive by posting in them

I was being nice, I stated a fact, this game is NOT neopets, this game is NOT real life. 2 facts. Then I stated another fact these have been suggested MANY times by MANY people and have ALL been shot down. How can someone take an idea from another game and seriously think it hasn't been suggested.

I'll be polite when they come up with a good idea. I wasn't even that rude.

There have been a few ideas that I liked in fact that were mentioned before (most ideas have) but not a lot and the person explained it better or added to it.
