I disagree. You should full well know what you are doing when customizing. You are essentially trading your ability to trade the weapon again in exchange for a 20% damage addition.

I thought you couldn't trade customized items.

You can trade them, no one else can use them.

That is pretty stupid. They should patch that, so thinks like this won't happen.

If you could take customizations off:
Collectors items from Souther Shiverpeaks/Crystal Desert/Volcano Islands will be able to be used by level 3's just entering Ascalon City, which would give them max defense, and max damage weapons as soon as their attribute for the weapon got high enough.

Not really, once you cutomised it, its your to keep. Always read the label of what your buying and make sure your not being cheated.

been saying this since my 1st or second post .. There should at least be a warning about customised or non Primary items for "newbs & the sleepy" alike..
either that or should not be able to trade customised items , period.

Either this idea was made after you accidently bought a sword and was very angry, or you just weren't thinking it through. This idea is most unlikely going to be turned down by arenanet because it'll defy every single purpose customization was made for. It's made in order to have a person decide whether to swap trading value for better power. If you're allowed to uncustomize a weapon then it's pointless, even if they charged 100,000 gold for it, it's still pointless. Sorry if this seemed harsh, but that's about as straightforward as i can get.

I've said the same exact thing too, at least a warning, because I learned the hard way...lost 150g which isn't too bad, but i'm sure someone has gotten screwed worse.

if there was a massive charge, like 5k, on uncustomizing an item i think it would work...

Maybe that could work, as an added money sink... but I still kind of defeats the point of Cutomising your weapon.

True but if you customize a weapon for the measily 10 gold.. to do 20% more damage, and you find another better weapon, that other weapon is useless while it might be really usefull in the hands of a player who hasn't got as good of a weapon as that.
so like 5K should do the trick I'd say.
