One option would be to press 'c' which is your hotkey for targetting the nearest monster(by default) and then press 'spacebar' which is your hotkey for "Do it"(by default).
Then you never need to know where your cursor is. And, if someone in your party is kind enough to make targets, just press 't' instead of 'c'.
I still agree with changing the cursor color though, because I can never find mine in the shiverpeaks where everything is O.O

You never need to know where your cursor is if you're not fighting enough targets that clicking something is faster than manually targeting. I can't play fullscreen mode because my mouse cursor completely disappears when my mouse is at rest. While I primarily use the keyboard in battle, I tend to use the mouse outside of battle. It makes things like looting, moving, and targeting npcs outside of town a very arduous task.
It would be nice if they had some basic graphical cursor options.
