ok, think about this, 2 swords, 1,5 meters each. Its already difficult to swing one of those around the way u want it, and with 2? lol, might as well let a ranger have 2 bows.

if you want to get into detail. I cant cast a meteor with my hands waving in the air. so there for elementalists should be taken out of the game its so un-natural. since duel wielding 1.5 meter sword seems to be also.

I know why not have a bard character. oh wait yeah instrament emotions would be usless to guildwars.. oh well.

You are correct; armor imposes a check penalty.
We're trying to keep it within fantasy's specs, not reality's. If we were happy with reality, we wouldn't need RPGs.

I don't understand how your second statement contributes at all.

Thanks to Madjik for linking my thread.

1 sword > 2 swords in terms of actual practicality.

All of us in this thread are aware of this fact.
The point of threads like this is not the realistic funtionality of dual-wielding, but the application of such a concept in Guild Wars that would provide incentive and balance to all sides.

However, I do have IRL friends who will disagree with you and can fence you to prove their point.

I am all for dual-weilding. I'd love to see this function as well as 2-handed claymores (swords, not mines).
In my opinion, only daggers should be allowed for a dual set. Let's say that dagger's maximum damage is 7-10. Having two daggers will grant you 2 attacks instead of one but with weaker damage. On the other hand you could have modifiers on both of those weapons. Alternatively (or at the same time), dual-weilding could be linked to a passive skill (like charm animal) you need to carry on the skill bar in order to benefit from the two weapons at the same time. This skill may or may not reduce your damage by X%.

Wishful thinking from my part, eh?

Please see my post and reply to it, as you seem like someone else who is thinking beyond just the concept into actual implementation.

Ive got nothing relevant to say.. but i do hope each expansion/chapter does bring forth new types of characters, not just duel-weild but other thought up characters too.. Ive always want to play as a Theif.
