more WOW to this game
and no, i dont mean world of warcraft. I mean, I wish this game had some more bosses and enemies that are unique and cool. I mean, dont get me wrong, this game is like a bajillion times better in model reproduction than almost any other rpg i've played however it still uses the same models for different enemies. I can handle that somwhat though. But what I dont like is how bosses are like, the exact same, maybe bigger, than their type of monster. For instance, when I was doing the Earth Test or w/e from The Serenity Temple and It was like "summon the stone golem of superness" or something really cool. I was extremely excited. I was like: "wow this is gonna be teh leetsauce, this dood is gonna be 2000ft tall and ima pwn his toes off and he'll die" but alas when I finally "summon" him I walk around a crystal and hes there, no taller than a boulder elemental. Its disappointing. The only other thing I wish had a little more pizzaz are skills. I mean a fireball looks exactly like flare and I mean there is so much more you can do to the graphics/animation to make these skills look at least a little cooler.
Anyway, dont ask me to do it cause im newb and I cant, but I know that if the developers put like a week into making each profession better, I could wait 5 weeks for an update on profession skills and I dont care how long I have to wait to get some cool bosses.
Glint = teh only coolest boss.
P.S. I mean there needs to be like a whole area and you should be able to get into something cool like an open space with no enemies and all of a sudden, a huge hooded phantom pops out of the ground that looks nothing like any other enemy and you and ur friends have to beat down on him so uber hard or you'll be pwned. JUST LIKE GLINT, cause its uber fun fighting glint. Or you could be able to go into like a coliseum and when someone releases a lever, a 2 headed bull comes out of a gate and all the doors shut. Something awesome and fun like that.
The best thing would be to make something that doesnt look anything like any other normal monster and make it huge and big. Eye candy = need more.

I agree. Some of the Mission bosses in Kryta and Maguuma need to be much more imposing.
However, I did have a WOW moment just recently, after not having one in PvE for quite a while. There is a quest in Beetletun that has you fight 10 waves of about 15 undead each. It was very fun, although I was down to about 25 deaths and -60% DP by the time it ended.

I agree, the first time I went through Kryta is was all fine, but after that it all lost it's "wow" feeling. You guys remember that mission in the wilds where you had to carry the seeds and make the bridges? It was AWESOME how the vine bridges just grew like that, you could even run across them AS they were finishing, it was amazing watching the vines and plants wrap around to form the bridge, really cool. I think bosses really do need some major improvement though, every single time I've fought/killed a boss, it's been crap. Just like...ok...glowing normal bad guy.
Often times, the bosses aren't even more DIFFICULT than the normal enemies unless they're a monk. Each "country" or region should have like 2 MAJOR bosses you can encounter in the wild, that are just as hard if not harder to take down than glint---a sort of major, extra thing to do for those of us who've beaten the game. The UW/Fissure only last so long...it would be cool to have a giant boss bigger than the worms (or just as tall in height, but like a whole person...not just a worm...) The worms are the coolest enemies in the game IMO, they're just so massive and powerful (depending on the sort).
It's like the sand giants and tundra..."giants" and stuff. They're hardly any taller than a troll. I mean hell, why not make them almost as tall as the worms, or just as...or maybe TALLER?! And harder to beat.
I just know that if I looked over a cliff and saw a gigantic, insanely large monster tall as the trees around him walking below me...it'd be awesome.

I was taking this post seriously, until the above line. My question is, do people really think its cool to 'talk' this way. My friends and I all get a good laugh everytime someone says(types) pwn. We make fun of it on a regular basis. Im dying to know why some people think its cool to talk(grr type) like that...enlighten me.

For the record, I've never heard the term "leetsauce" before, and I think it sounds kind of cool. It's 1337sp3ak that propogates ignorance and general stupidity... this is just a neologism.

When I first did this, I actually canvased for a half hour first to find a good solid team to take him on "massive stone giant, brave party needed..."
I was so disappointed to see he was barely larger than me. I must say, the worms are quite impressive and so is Gl**t and her guardians (despite the frustrating transparency) but yeah... I want to see something really massive... intimidating. Something you can see from far away, walk for five minutes and THEN arrive at it... something that unless you go into first person mode, even a caster won't see the top of it. I'm usually not of the "bigger is better" school, but this would just make it more exciting, more intimidating. Worms are actually very easy to beat if you get them alone, but I never approach one with anything but the utmost caution and I panic when one shows up unexpected... why? cuz they're f***ing huge and scare the piss out of me!!!! Aside from the size, it would also be nice (as OP said) to see some unique models used only for bosses... Gl**t and the final boss are good examples... but Gl**t is awefully similar to other creatures as well.
god I love this game...

hey man i was just being sarcastic to lighten up the mood. I dont normally talk that way or I'm sure you wouldn't have taken any of this thread seriously. If it bothers you that much ill change it, but id prefer you disregard it and stick to the meaning of the thread.
Oh and I see nothing wrong with using that type of language because I have played counter-strike (CS <- Coldize) for the past 6 years and its just a part of my life. Once again, I dont normally talk like that but its fun. No one takes it seriously and I certainly dont try to do it for the cool factor. I would get a good laugh out of someone that ever used perfect grammatical structure/punctuation/spelling everytime they talked, wouldn't you? Its the same thing. Just be glad im not using t3h U|3er 13375p34k, rofl.

(I don't see how the above post is in anyway constructive...)
However, I hate, hate, hate to draw comparisons between GW to other games, but, in this case, it's probably the clearest way to establish my thoughts.
Are you perhaps proposing something along the lines of the "Weapons" in Final Fantasy VII? I think something along these lines, thematically sound, etc., would be an excellent addition. Perhaps, only available in "replay" whenever/whatever that will entail.

I know nothing of that game... But since we're comparing here, let's compare d2.
How many andariels in d2? how many baal's? how many diablo's? Most of the creatures in d2 are only on the first level on which you find them (some are repeated, but not most) and all of the level bosses and important bosses are unique... and to draw out the comparison into unneeded territory, the music was well done and matched with the environment. (I know, not relevent... but it's the only thing about this game that actually bothers me... to see such a superb game ignore such an important detail...)

perhaps its constructive because I was clarifying a point to try to get everyone to focus on the meaning of the topic but alas it didnt work because someone had to criticize a post because they couldn't understand why it was made. Now please ignore this off-topic stuff and ignore any post you dont like. We dont need useless comments like my "non-constructive" one and therefore I'd prefer if everyone stopped judging what people say and simply add your opinions, nothing else.
As for your idea about the weapons, I am overly disappointed about that as well (the weapons, not your idea ;P) You see these weapons that have incredibly cool names and the when you put it on, it looks EXACTLY like almost every other weapon of that type. I think ALL staves look the same, most swords look the same, etc. Why do you think that everyone wants a Fiery Dragon Sword? It cause its freaking cool, same with the Storm Bow. I hate to feel so mean as to only comment on what needs to be improed so I'll take this time to say that I think the environments are really amazing, especially later on in the game. You rarely see anything that looks like anything else and then sometimes, you get to see something really spectacular (like in perdition rock, where you see the faces with lava coming out of their eyes or something like that). This is how I want the weapons/enemies to be set up like.

That is so true, a great idea! I too would like to see the bosses for major missions or quests be unique, just like you said.
