What do YOU want?
I keep seeing this over and over, pvp vs pve, how things should work, and what not. To be honest I started playing cause I love pvp, however, in 200+ hours, I have spent very little time in pvp, I just recently got a guild hall for my guild by purchase.
Anyway, the point of this is to find out what exactly everyone wants. PvE players, what exactly do you want out of the game, once you have finished the story? and same for pvp players as well.
The only thing I want more of is pvp types, something besides HoH, arena's, and GvG, maybe some duel areas, maybe a semi persistant zone, where guilds vie for control over keeps, and if one guild gets destroyed, another can map in from a starter keep somewhere so the battle keeps going, Perhaps gain fame for holding keeps, I don't know, maybe I played to much DAoC but I really like their rvr style, and I think it could have some good influence's for Guild Wars pvp.
As for Pve, maybe I havn't played enough rpg's, but I don't know what else could be added, what do you as pve players want more of? more quests? more zones to explore? what does pvp have to do with the pve aspect?
maybe I'm just dumb, but would really like to know what exactly people want so that maybe I can understand what all the complaining is about.

50% of the complaining is selfishness masked by flaming and ignorance (Bad)
The other 30% aren't suggestions, just changes that alter the game, a game that would defy much of the purposes ANet has in mind (Not bad, just not really helpful)
Then there's 20% which are real suggestions that the player think that helps (It's good, but it's probably stuff they'll include in expansions in order for more $$).
For the most part, things that ANet believe should be fixed/added are being done. I see nothing that has "killed" the game, maybe weakened a few aspects, but in return strengthened others and such. Overall, I don't see any real "constructive" complaining, but it might just be me.

i think the world should be expanded every so often, with new quests and outposts
new armour should be made available.
and they should make a quest for the ANCIENT WEAPON cause i have no idea wat do with it

I think you should be able to craft your own weapon, like in it's entirity, including design, etc.

For PvE, I want to see the rest of the Temple of Ages filled up, as the Underworld and Fissure of Woe are the only mildly entertaining PvE I have encounted. Speaking of which, why are these missions hampered by Worlds at War? That's rediculous. Just as rediculous as...
...making it so PvPers need to grind to play PvP with competitive groups using team builds. What are the chances when picking up a PUG at the Tombs, that when you tell your team the team build that you all want to use, if you are so lucky as to find a cooperative team, that everyone on the team will have all of the incredibly important skills for the build? 99% chance that at least half of your team can't complete their own personal build with probably the most important skills.
So obviously, what I want is UAS and UAR to go with it. UAS would allow for fun PvP, and UAR would even the playing field once and for all. But, since this dream has long been trampled by either selfishness or ignorance, I can't pick which, I want this miraculous update that Arena.Net has promised us not to be another sham. What do I mean by that?
-It should not take a billion hours to get 1 unlocking point, or however they'll do it.
-The amount should never increase such as experience:level and fame:rank.
-The amount should be universal so that it's not a giant pain in the ass unlocking ___ item, but only takes 5 minutes to unlock ___ item from presear, etc.
-It should take considerably less time to unlock things through PvP than it would through PvE. The reason being is that this is for PvP characters, and PvE characters should never be better in this aspect. Either that, or allow me to use my PvP only characters in the fissure of woe, and we'll see who starts "whining" about unfairness.
Now, to balance all this out, we need something to shut PvE players who feel their game has been cheapened up. That's A.Net's problem, as that is the problem with the game: Too much grind for PvPers, not enough for PvEers. The problem being that the PvEers grind just happens to affect PvPers FAR too much, and as a result, PvPers are either burnt out by the time it's finished, or are put at an unfair disadvantage if they don't even attempt to.
As for weapon crafting as stated in the above post, I said long ago, customizing a weapon should be like customizing a cape: you pay an extra huge amount of money, and then you get to pick several template designs: The basic shape, the shape detail, a bit of color variation, hilt, hilt accessories, etc. Each type of weapon that varies distincly (eg: longbows and shortbows) would have differing types as not to confuse enemy players, which would be annoying.

I already really like the game. If it gets much better I'll probably lose my job....
Adding more emotes/character customization would be great gold sinks if you priced them right (I can just see hair salons and dance schools in Lions Arch , and should keep the RPG crowd happy.
*Real* customized weapons as outlined a couple of posts above is a great idea also - and another gold sink.
It would be nice if the (PvE) game were more difficult - having the critters automatically scale up (though not down) depending on Party level would be really nice. That way you could help your "younger" friends level up and still keep a challenge for everyone.
Dunno how to help the hardcore PvPers - other then continuing to show up and get my ass kicked with Template Characters using spells I've never even *heard* of

Fissure Price
First off, I like this game very much as well. What kind of bothers me isn't a big deal, nor should it be, because it has nothing to do with balance in the game.
I think since drops were nerfed, including ectoplasms and obsidian shards in UW and FoW, and since the prices of those materials are high as it is (4k-5k for just one piece) that maybe the rare material traders should sell those at a fixed reduced percentage of supply/demand.
I know that this armor is supposed to be hard to find, I'm still for it to be hard, but with all the nerfs going on, the materials are way too rare to find. The funds needed to craft this armor is so high that it doesn't even make a good gold sink. Why? Because when people eventually find out about this armor, they'll most likely not want to bother trying to get it. Except me, I'm crazy when it comes to getting things like this.
I don't know if anyone agrees with this, which is why I'm curious as to what other people (those who have this armor and those who don't)have to say.

Recap.
Lots of ideas here, sorry, the complaining I was referring to was not neccesarily in Sanitarium, but you guys understood me I guess.
More emote's -- honestly i'm not into the whole dance party but more emotes could't hurt, especially if they were implemented as a gold sink, just a little add in, doesn't effect pve or pvp, just something fun.
Weapon Customization -- Love it, I've always hated that once someone finds a good build, thats what everyone does, by being able to build your own weap, from the actual base, basicly picking what kind of axe you want so to speak, war axe, hatchet, cleaver, etc, then adding the upgrades you want for a fee, then any mods you add would increase the lvl req, so you would have to balance it out, making weapon customization actually require some thought. But I don't want to take away from exploring and getting items as drops, so maybe they could add some unique mods from dropped items that can't be crafted, not neccesarily better, just unique.
Resources -- I don't seem to have to much difficulty gathering the basic crafting materials, and then you can make the rare materials yourself, I do believe that shards and ecto are quite rare, and I sure as hell don't want to pay 3-5k for each one, thats insane. so maybe the drop rates could use a little work, I think dyes are dropping in an appropriate rate, perhaps if the other items could work like that, would help with the balancing.
Armor -- The 15k armor, is just a gold sink, and I honestly think it's a good one, although I wish their were more options, I hate how male gladiator armor looks, but I really want that energy bonus, thats why i'm working on getting fissure armor, cause I heard it all looks the same, but has the different stats.
( if you havn't noticed, I care about looks, it makes the game more enjoyable for me)
PvE -- More dungeons, quests, explorable areas, works for me, and I do believe they will be adding more, so A-Net is doing good there.
PvP -- Their adding more pvp rewards, sounds good to me, I don't do much pvp right now, but my guild is still quite small, and pug's tend to be a dissapointment right now, I've been in a few, and I still maintain contact with those people but, now their in guilds and they don't have time to do pug's with old friends
A few added comments --
Runes -- I like how the merchant has significantly reduced prices, but, I dont' think that superior runes should be as easy to get as a minor, nor should they cost the same. Why does a minor vigor sell for more than a superior earth magic? That needs fixed.
Thats about all for now, thanks for thoughful and intelligent responses. It's these kinds of posts that get recognition.

Expanded Friends Lists when it shows there guild they belong to and ability to add short notes.
The ignore list ignore all chat in team included also have small notes for why you ignored them.
An system where if a friend or ignore list has been off line after a long period of time goes to an "archive" section you can bring up to help reduce clutter automatically from inactive players.
A "completed" quest log that shows you all the quests you have completed.
Have the ability to store armor & weapons presets off of the f1, etc keys so armor "set" is included.

Oh ya, lol, just saw something a guildy asked about
Quest log, Just for fun
and their are weapon tabs, weapons can be switched in battle, I think a preset skill setup would be very helpful, I can't tell you how many times a group jumps into the mission or whatever before everyone has their skills set.
Especially for monks, that way if they just did a mission where they were a protection, they can just hit F5 and switch to their healing skill setup, and wouldn't have to worry about going into the next fight being have protection and half healing

For the RPG characters, there should be mounts for specific classes (ex., bone creatures for necromancers and horses for warriors), house owning, taverns, jumping, aerial mounts (ex., dragons), swimming, rivalries (1v1), PvP rewards, and no invisible walls. For the PvP characters...pretty much the same thing (except for house owning).

PvE- Towns that cant be teleported to after they are discovered, dont show up on map, but have everything a normal outpost has? Only availible to enter by walking in...
Bewing able to grab a part of a monster, only availible when soloing it, to show that you killed it. No worth or anything. This wont be the same as collecter items, itll say "Taken from Lvl X Monster name"

Only a few things:
A "last logged on" field in the friends window, like the guild window has, so you know when the best time is to catch someone. I've had good pugs and added friends, only to never see them online again.
A co-op PvE arena, where a team of 8 defends a structure (much like Thunderhead Keep), but the waves of mobs are infinite and increase in level every time a new one comes. Maybe chests would spawn after every 10 waves or so, containing nicer and nicer items. This would give farmers something to do. Bosses of a random type would spawn at regular intervals as well, so it could be an interesting way of obtaining elites, aside from circling perdition rock 600 times trying to get that boss to spawn.
The ability to PvP in any map in the game, or at least the EAs. I think it would be rather fun to hunt an opposing party in "the falls" map, rather than being constrained to the confines of the arenas. Parties would be created for this express purpose and would be able to challenge other parties which already occupy the map. The arenas seem to be designed for instant action, two parties in close proximity, who clash as soon as the doors open. I think a more protracted battle, where two teams actually have to hunt eachother would be a nice change of pace, and I cant imagine it would be too hard to implement.

dual weild for rangers and warriors (weps)
i mean that a 1 handed wepon like a shortswrd or tribal blade or 1-handed axe can be used instead of a shield or other item, (has to have *off hand* in the name, like *off-hand Tribal Blade ect, so you cant just have 2 or yer best items, you need a porper off hand wepon version of yer fave)
the other guys (Monk, Necro, mages ect) can have off hand wands...same deal. (dont want them to be quite as good as the normal wands, cause a double barrle necro with a cold wand would be scary, and possibly make tanks redundant ^^ lol)

Well what do I want...?
Probably some increased droppage in UW and Fissure, or some place to farm again....
A-Net said that farming isn't needed in the game...But I'm trying to wonder how i am gonna afford the deldrimor steel needed for full 15k plate when i only have 20 plats from farming UW for Ectos when america has favor.
