Did it last night on first try with 3 W/Mo's, a 60% DP Elementalist and 2 henchies, Lina and Menhlo. Two other Elementalists dropped early.
Challenging?...yes
Impossible?....no.

I found a good PUG and we managed the Fatal Blow quest, Ring of Fire, and Abbadon's Mouth before almost everyone had to call it quits. I think only 3 or 4 rezzes (at least one being for Mhenlo) were necessary the whole Time.
Too bad, I really think we could have done Hell's Precipice easily.

lol i did it with henchies, its easy, the opnly midly hard part is the obscene amounts of ether seals and that monk mursaat boss, took a while to kill him ;D

Yes I tried it 3 times and failed miserably....then I called guild we did it no problem...you need a good group the henchs man is obviously a freaking syco if he can do it with henchs

Maybe that's why he is asking for tips here...maybe not. I am sure your response will be the least helpful he gets.
To the OP, while it is possible with henchmen, it is a bit trickier as they are too dumb most times to get out of the lava, so you may have better luck with a human group. If the group doesn't make it through the first time, you can usually identify a couple of people in your group who have a better handle on what they are doing. Send them a tell and see if you can stick with them on another attempt at it. Doing a mission a few times with good people adding some different classes, or adjusting your skill bars can make a difference. If your group doesn't talk at all and moves faster than you think it should, start from scratch.
Also if you find yourself getting frustrated, I did many times. Take a break for a bit, play an alt or a different game, then return to it . Better than beating your head against incompetent groups one after another which sometimes happens.

just think. when you finish it, you going to have to do it again when the next two missions become available to be able to get to them. lol sorry for your frustrations with the mission... I guess it is just that many are not ready for what is there when they get there. basically if you can do the underworld with a group, that group is probably well suited for the ring of fire.

I beat it my first try with seven people. An elementalist had left early.
Nearly the same thing happened with Thunderhead - first try with five people and three henchies. Then again, ventrilo helped so much in that mission.

did it with one w/r and me air e/mo...the rest henchies. make sure you take caster henchies, because i found that going through the front gate makes things easier, but before breaking the first seal at the door, kill as many of the mursaat necromancers and jades as possible...the ones closer to the wall shouldn´t be hard for the casters. oh, and luring is very very important in that mission...just as rebirth didn´t harm. oh, and if you want to lure with two real players only, make sure one moves somewhere a bit far away and keeps moving on the spot...that keeps the henchies from aggro
