Default New Necro Skills

I think the necros should be able to summon pet shadows, or command them. I think they should also added summon skeleton.

that would unbalance the game...........you would have to give other races something as well

They have enough options for summons as it is. What exactly would they do differently?

They already own. A Necromancer focusing on summons and other focusing on corpse manipulation = ouch.

If you'd like some more permanent pets just use N/Mo or Mo/N and use Heal Area. However, you would lose your "pets" when you leave the area...

Skeletons are too cliche, IMO, but those twisted flesh things are pretty "Guild Wars" to me. Permanent pets will be a Ranger-only attribute, I suspect. Seeing as how 1 out of their 4 attributes focuses on the pet...

I wouldnt mind seeing some different nec pets. Maybe have an elite summon that creates a bigger badder monster that keeps his health. Except you can only summon one, so when hes on the field that skill is locked.

Id be nice to have more than just animals and undead by your side too. Summoning a phantom for instance would move quickly to the enemy and instead of attacking his health it would slow him down. Maybe a elemental Imp summon for elementist.
This would be cool, but maybe a little impractical..a dragon (or something along those lines) summon. It would take up 2 slots (including elite) and have a serious casting time. You could have a skill that increases the casting making it 3 skill slots. 2 or 3 skill slots for a seriously upsetting monster on the field would be a fair trade off wouldnt it?

Fairness aside, with such cool summons, no one would make a normal Necro. Only summoning ones :/

Hmmm. so your saying that, that idea is TOO cool. If implemented with balance and fairness Id imagin that a lot of people would move to summoning necs for its cool factor...at first. As soon as its normal or if its over done people would chill out.

Also, maybe, if it was sooooo cool that everyone had to do it then that might be a good thing. It would require to some degree to raise the bar on other new classes or abilites to make them appear to be just as cool. Then the coolness is spread out.

Necro have 3 different skills to summon minions, for 2 different kinds, as well as undead controling techniques, Necro is not the Pet job though, they make use of corpses, but do not use special moves with thier Minions. If you want an addition to your minion army then use N/R. There are many kinds of pets you can use along with your minions for an enhanced minion army, Bears, Wolves, Lynx, Birds, Spiders, and I'm sure there are more, Spiders seem cool to me for a N/R.

I would like to see an elite Super Minion myself, a Bone Dragon. Because the story mentions the myth of a bone dragon in the ranks of the undead. This is for one reason though, in a PVP match corpses may be very limited, and it makes it hard for Necromancers to make any use out of Minion summoning spells if they don't have adequit corpses. I think if they did make a good Elite Summon for Necromancer though, that it should cost 30 energy, and some health, as well as remove any other minions you have so you cannot have any other undead minions along with it.

If they should ever do something like a summon overhaul, they could very easily create a nice handy PvP skill, like 10 energy, 1 second cast time, 30 seconds reload time, materialize 1-12 corpses, or something like that. Perhaps make it an Elite.

Thought this was going to be another Soul Reaping attribute related skills add request. Since it's not, I'll stick to elite skills involving death magic.

I was pretty dissapointed by Death Magic's elite skills. VERY much so. Tainted Flesh is just as likely to backfire and punish your own group, barring the person who's immune to disease, as it is to effectively harm the other group, and even if you did have everyone immune to disease, you could use Poison Arrow or Apply Poison and poison all of the enemies just as easily, without risking your own team's status.
Virulence is simply pathetic. Enfeeble/Enfeebling Blood and Rotting Flesh fit the bill just as well, and can be easily hit multiple people without the elite tag, once again pointing out how annoying disease can be.
Aura of the Lich is unimpressive as well. It doubles the impact of regeneration/degeneration, which is a double-sided coin. About the only use for it seems to be to reduce the impact of sacraficing life. Not having tried it, I won't go in too deep on commenting about it, as that might not be such a bad thing. (Actually, I have tried it Go mesmer + Arcane Theivery. Just nothing to actually try it in conjunction with.)

There's a sore lack of anything good under death magic, and it's depressing.

An elite minion summon, or summon-related skill would definitely be a satisfying addition to the mix. We currently have Bone Fiends which deal ranged damage (actually killed a warrior with an army of 6 of them in the arena, before he could kill me), Bone Horrors to deal close up damage AND be walking time bombs (death nova), and Bone Minions to be both walking time bombs, and used for combos where more is better. More soul reaping benefit, more extra damage from Barbs or Mark of Pain, etc.
There's nothing that does elemental damage, maybe that'd make a fine elite. The Undead Lich summoned those really annoying phantoms that used chain lightning (don't think I saw them use it when they were on our side though), why not have an elite phantom summon capturable off of him that turns the nearest corpse into a phantom with a couple of skills at it's disposal, or at least does a little ranged lightning damage with 25% armor penetration.
(little isn't such a bad thing, because if it's not a whole lot, it means you aren't going to have to wait 2 minutes just for your skill to recharge). It doesn't have to be some uber pet, just something new and interesting, and at least partially useful. (Physical damage isn't so hot against warriors, why not a minion that has a slight advantage against them. [Which would end up being a liability while attacking rangers])

Me, as one of the rare summoning necros (summoning just dont work too well in pvp ) say that we need no other creature right now.

What we need is a different look for the Bone Minions. Right now they look like Bone Horrors and thats just boring (maybe the developers became lazy? ^^). Even the icon shows a scarab like creature

Maybe we get new things when all the classes get something.

In the UW, do the first quest, then do the escort quest. Go out farther down the path and a spider will appear (black widow)

Was disapointed in this myself. Heh. Bumping this thread just for this suggestion.

Animate Undead Cleric (elite) - Exploit target corpse to animate a level 3-16 Undead Cleric. Undead Clerics can use healing spells.

Energy Cost: 25 | Activation Time: 3s | Recharge Time: 60s

This might be useful. A lvl16 ally with, say, Healing Breeze and Orison of Healing.

^ I agree, But if necros could do that I wish Elementalists could summon Dragons since they are Mages in a sort of way and a Summoner.
Edit: Not only dragons but some other stuff like Trolls, Spiders, e.t.c..

Elementalists should not summon animals, but Elementals. Summon ____ Elemental, where blank is fire/ice/lightning/earth, each with different characteristics.

Rangers should have the animals.
