Needs Improvement!
Anyone think this game is VERY similar to Diablo2? Because 1. you have to follow storyline 2. Only NPC's to see are people that dont speak, or say very little, (also you have bunch of NPC's that sell things, just like Diablo2) 3. Theres though same areas and you HAVE to follow story to get to them, Wasteland, Ice mountains, Badlands, Jungle, Desert, etc. (same with Diablo2 except different areas) 4. Both have henchmen/ bodyguard. 5. attribute points (I thought this game is based on skill? Why not give attribute points by the way you fight and weapons you use.) 6. Same monsters over and over imps and imps, bulls and bulls, also same looking boss for same monster (diablo 2 has those fetish guys that look like imps also, over and over with same boss). Does anyone think there will be difficulties in this? Nightmare, etc? I played Diablo2 for awhile, but once I got to max lvl and all, it started to become very boring, because everyone has best weapon including the newbies, and when you started a new character I dont feel like doing the entire daylong story over, I think if you have lvl 20 character with a lot of money, you make your low lvl elite with best armor and stuff. I think this game would be very fun, if it was from a variety of creators like Diablo2, EQ, and Morrowind, then I think we would see more variety of things, rather than diablo2 play style. Diablo2 has its ups and downs, so does Morrowind and EQ, but them combined, its like a miracle, everything striaght, no downs, all ups!
Things I would like to see improve in this game, is where those NPC's that arent merchant, armor, rune, storage, hench, etc, I would like them to say more than, there usual.
I would like Guild Rating not just be based on guild battles, not everyone is good at battles even though they try so hard. I would like to see hidden NPC's that hide within the game, and if you find them and socialize with them enough, they eventually come to your guild, and guilds be rated on wins, population, total amount of fame that your guild members have, so its more harder to be best guild than just have best skills and bots.
Also I would like to see more zones, Guild Wars looks small once you beat it, kind of like Diablo2, however other games like Morrowind and EQ, once you beat it, it still seems really big.
Lastly, I think it should be much harder to make money, if you can be richest guy from looting chests 9999 times, it gets boring afterawhile since you have nothing to buy, nothing to do, sure it may be fun to do HoH, but maybe there not good enough, and there groups never get past unworthy.
I like Guild Wars very much, but all I ask for is a little bit more improvement, theres only 1 thing I like about this game and thats guild battles, even though I wish you could do unrated guild battle, because my members are all lvls 1 - 12, and are not experienced enough, but very anxious to be in guild battle.

*** QUOTE from other topic ***
I still dont understand people who criticise GW and try to compare it to WoW. OBVIOUSLY, GW is BETTER than WoW... First the graphics are one word: 'Amazing'. It has a much better graphics engine and has better musics by my part. Besides all these, let me tell you, if you're gonna try to get in WoW right now, you are doomed to suck as everybody is like lvl60 right now... It's not the case with Guild Wars because the game is much more BALANCED in every term than WoW. And pls don't forget the x factor: GW is free. You can call me cheapskeat or whatever u want but i pay nothing and i get to play a much better game than WoW can ever be. This is the truth my friends as it is. You don't have to be Elminster The Sage to know that "free+better>not free+bad". So please stop criticising GW and pls give the credit to GW team. I am glad to be a GW player and looking forward to the new chapter. (btw you guys, you guys ever get anything new other than new crappy-graphic new monsters in your WoW hills? LOL)...
*** QUOTE END ***
well i think it's the best out there now... so far it's much better than WoW, Lineage 2 and all the others... and def much better than Diablo...

1-3. I do agree that Diablo is similiar in terms of explorable areas and storyline.
4. I don't think that this is a valid comparison. Henchmen in Diablo were a supplement and a gameplay mechanic, by themselves. Henchmen in Guild Wars are just meant to be surrogate group members.
5. Choosing your attribute points increase the amount of strategy in the game. If you just get attribute points depending on what you do, then it would be difficult to adapt your build to new situations. It would be difficult to try new things.
6. I agree.
I don't think that this game is that close to Diablo II, since the combat mechanics and the level, item, skill, and attribute point systems are very different. Only the dressings (plot, geography) are reminiscent of D2.

Why should guild ratings be based on anything besides how well they do in GvG combat? It would be very difficult to make it be based upon success in the Tombs, since you'd have to guage the rating of every single person that your team faces, in order to determine how many points you gain or lose after a battle. Plus Tombs has too many random factors (e.g. "Let's all gang up on the Koreans"). Right now, except for a few exploiters, Guild Ratings are based upon how good the guild is, not on who has the "best skills and bots."

I agree that more zones would be good. That's why we've got expansion packs. GW seems smaller, like D2, because it has a linear storyline. Morrowind and EQ don't have a linear, focused storyline, so they seem larger.

I believe that you can have unrated guild battles, although there aren't any random unrated guild battles. If your guildies don't have any high level characters, then you can make PvP characters at lvl20, with some of the best armor and weapons that you can acquire in PvE.

Well if you have a bot, of course you can bring it to guild battle, same with skills. And if you seen a group of people with bot play, your chances of beating them are "a million to none."
But maybe your right HoH should not help guild rating, I just think there should be more than 1 factor that helps with guild rating, maybe like the one I mentioned earlier, where theres a hidden person(s), and if you find them throughout the game (which could make this game a WHOLE LOT BIGGER) and talk to that person, and possibly do quest for that person, he could goto your Guild Hall, and start filling that sucker up, and the more people/ population you have the better your rating is. Maybe some of those hidden people could serve as henchmen or maybe a storage dude, or merchant, etc.
But once you find somebody to come to guild they disappear from there location, and that theres only 50 of them out in one day, also they should reappear maybe 2 days later in different locations.
