No, it's not. It's a religion. You can't be a jew without being a follower of the jewish faith, you can't be a follower of the jewish faith without being a jew. The "default race", insomuch any races at all exist, of Hebrews is Semitic (generalized "arab"), but there's plenty of Slav and even Ethiopian jews.

Monk:

sure you walk in a swamp agro 2 groups I'm getting hit by 3 mobs and still expect to heal you when you are a el/mo and can't move? (for some reason most el/mo no rant to any el/mo that actually moves when agro, or is capable of self heals)

<nods> Yeah, and even then only provided it's not a prot/heal specced monk. Those bostiches take a lot of killing when all you've got is physical damage.

My support gripe was more those times when enemy casters are heaping conditions and hexes on me, the warrior, and the casters are so greedy for kills they ignore that my health bar is not only pink, but in free fall. I carry some basic defensive spells (condition removal, shatter hex) but I really need the casters to do something when enemy mesmers and necros and monks gang up on me.

Exactly. That's the "greedy for kills" factor again. Many ele's got it BAD. If they'd just hang back and wait three seconds I'd gather and hold the mobs for them, but noooo....

but heres what i think rangers do like

THrow dirt - every evil villain needs this (ranger has lunch while warriors try and fail misribly to hit him)

Distracting shot - See your heal? you dont get to use it!

Spike Trap + Flame trap = Toasty Fried BBQ!

Punishing shot + dual shot + power shot + penertraing attack (all buffed by kindle and Fav winds) = Qoute the Squishy "WTH JUST KILLED ME"

and for a final gripe - Ugh.. Empathy!

Not every person of the jewish faith is of the jewish race, of course, BUT that of course doesn't mean the race doesn't exist (which it of course does). Well, it's the best I could come up with, and the one I found the funniest that I've actually run into. I mean, how can you effectively expect to insult the majority of people you intend to verbally assault with that, outside of a KKK rally? The numbers don't add up.

Anyway, point being not to insult people based on race in a game where it's nearly impossible to tell. You're better off calling them some sort of chicken molesting turd smoker. It's probably more accurate.

LOL. Most of these posts after my own weren't really relevant, but deep down, you all hit the mark. Sleazy D, please do post in some other threads, especially my own.

I would like to add that I've had too many problems with warriors. I generally play my e/me and enjoy leading the party. This helps our party avoid agroing, or basically doing anything else stupid. What I don't understand is why after I call the best suited target, the warriors sit back and wait for me to make the first move. I'm not a warrior, and I sure as heck(<Did not know if the real word I was going to use was off limits.) am not going to pretend to be one.

Um... my spells do have a maximum range, and it happens to be within aggro distance. So don't complain if the monsters decide that I'm a better target than you.

2) Monk: Guys, my energy is too low, slow down!! Ok it's up, we can go. Me: Noooo, I'm still only a quarter recharged.

You think monks have energy problems? Try casting meteor shower, firestorm, meteor, rodgort's invocation and phoenix in a row.

3) It also really gets on my nerves when people underestimate or overestimate my damage capabilities. Like the warrior aggroing three mobs and saying "Quick, nuke them to death!!!". And elementalists have to have the worst problem with attributes. "So what kind of elementalist are you?" "Fire" "Oh sorry we need air" "*Sigh* Hold on a second".

And if you have a problem with being called "monk" or "ranger", at least people talk to you. Unless I'm in a Tombs spike group or a UW smite group, I could run around in circles repeatedly casting Aura of Restoration and nobody would notice. Everybody just assumes that I'm going to kill everything in one hit.

Agreed, necros deal a shitload of dmg, and quickly not to mention repetedly.

In a lot of situations 2 necros can be more effective than 2 air eles simply because of the continuous dmg output and offering of blood allows for almost unlimited energy. An ele blows his load usually and is at that point completely RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed. Necro's just keep it coming.

You know, koreans figured out that necros were valuable a long time ago and it took americans months to figure out that necros were causing them a lot of trouble.

-"OMG WTF heal me!" spam. Boys, I have 45 energy... that means, i can only cast 4 healing breezes...
-"WTF DO U MEAN U WERE SMITING INSTEAD OF HEALING!!" Lets make this clear... just because im a monk doesnt mean i have to sit and take it when a warrior stabs me...

pick up groups who think a group of 5 warriors, 1 ranger, and 2 monks IS JUST DANDY.

"LETS BASH SOME SKULLS LOLOLO-- WTF TRAPS?? AGHAGHAEGHHGH" followed by a quick and brutal murder. same goes for mesmer mobs. jesus. i can't tell you how many times either i or one of the monks are the sole survivors and have to res the whole damn team.

That's why i try to find a bottleneck to trap all the bad guys in front of me so you can blow them up in ease. i like to watch out for my damage dealer.

Like:
"If you get too much TLC from the mobs, don't run away from me. Run around me until I can catch their attention."

-- except for the fact that I'm gonna marry the (female) warrior that actually DOES come back to help casters when they're attacked. Haven't found one yet.

I've been vocal about my perceived problems, but someties people refuse to beleive that I either may know what I'm talking about (understandable, given that we don't know each other), or think that they need a minor tweak to their play style, rather than a gut-clearling tactical enema.

I'm not talking about nuances, or subtlties.... I'm talking about pure Air Elementalists that tank with no additional protection, and take offense to being asked to hold back. Even when I ask the group as a whole to not take so much damage, some people think that I'm crazy, and that it's some kind of herculean task for not everyone to get targetted, or to get rid of guys pounding on you. I'm talking about Leroy Jenkins up front there who is the only one going into battle, even though we've given him 6 pings to not.

Off topic, but it's kinda funny this got moved to this forum since it offers no gaming sggestions, just a place to vent.
