My apologies for such a strong stance, but as a student of political history and a teacher of U.S. Constitution, I am offended by the concept of the government stepping in to fix all our problems because we as a society are too lazy to do it ourselves.

AMEN TO THAT! This poster is clearly a genius!!!!!!!!

Pity? I do not need your pity sir. If there is anything to pity, it is the result of opinions like yours on society. And with all due respect, I am on topic. The topic was regarding the ESRB and this game. My response was that the ESRB has gone far enough already and asking for more punitive action on their part would degrade potential freedom of expression in gaming.

If you'll look over WarriorMonk's posts, he isn't even arguing over a higher ESRB rating for the game because of the ale anymore, he keeps changing his argument to all sorts of crap without any backing. In every post he's just trying to trash GW and make it sound as if everything in the game is in some way offending every decent person on this Earth, which is of course, absurd.
My suggestion, lock this sorry excuse for a "petition", it's obvious WarriorMonk doesn't want anything other than to start some shit on the forums. If he wanted to get a rating changed he'd go to ESRB, not here, as we cannot do anything about it. ESRB doesn't rate things based on how many people want it, this "petition" is POINTLESS because even if 1,000 people said they wanted it changed, unless it meets the regulations for a higher rating under overview from ESRB it doesn't matter in the slightest. He's just trying to start things here on the forums over some ridiculous "matter" that is out of our control anyway.

wait a second, last time i checked the legal age for alcohol in the states was 21......... if you want it to be M 17+ you are still promoting under age drinking.......and going to hell if ale is against your religion. and at any age, i am sure going to hell sucks.

Also, if u care to notice, it IS classified "teen" now as you should know unless u are underage to be playing this game is that all teens have undergone alcohol, drugs, and sex awareness by now so anything they choose is done by their own actions over a game. You can't enforce society to fix itself, it has to be done by itself, just installing a new rating wont change people running around in underwear and cage dancing in Kryta

Funny how videogames always stir up discussion. WAKE UP PARENTS! There are far more serious threats out there for your kid than him buying dwarven ale or dancing around wearing only skidmarked undies in some game. Try to keep your precious toddlers away from drugs and guns, be happy if they spend time playing a game like this instead.

Reading all of these posts all I am seeing is one-liners from the OP, grasping at the tiniest of straws to cling to. This rating will not change. The reason there are different districts is for different parts of the world, as far as fighting for favor, that isn't instilling racism, that is instilling international competitiveness, it is the players themselves that start the racism, not the game itself. People can be competitive in other countries without being racist, however its not the game that controls the players.
When ESRB rated this game I'm sure they looked at the pure content of the game, and reading over the ESRB ratings, drinking alcohol at different ages varies on the country. Some countries you can drink at age fifteen or lower. No need to assume that every country has a 21+ age for drinking limits. As far as the suggestive dancing, it is merely something added for entertainment, the game would be very boring without simple little easter eggs like this, and each dance has a reason and is different for a reason. The only dances I see as being relatively suggestive are the Female Elementalist and the Female Ranger, the other dances, are dances that do exist, like the Pulp Fiction dance, River Dance, Elaine Dance, the Monks do the Katas, and Necros do punk rock or the Thriller dance. The underwear looks more like bathing suits to me, and its rather funny personally.
As far as the Dwarven Ale goes, it may not necessarily be alcoholic rather than it is strong to the point of disorienting the drinker after having too much of it. It's like Mead, its not necessarily alcoholic but you think it might be. Dwarven Ale is just an easter egg for laughs, but any kid with sense would realize that drinking isn't such a laugh like that.
Personally when they came out, I chugged five of them [in-game] and my character started saying a few things and made it perfectly clear that it wasn't a pleasant experience being disoriented like that. No one will think much of it, kids will find it hilarious but if their parents have taught them anything they should know it shouldn't be repeated in real life.
Dwarven Ale is NOT a requirement to play the game, if it is against certain religions to drink thats fine but does that mean the game has to remove it because of that? No, you simply don't buy it or use it. It's like restaurants. just because they sell wine some of them, doesn't mean they are trying to insult religions that have alcohol as being against the rules but it's for those who want to buy it and consume it.
I feel you are looking far too much into this and feel your efforts are wasted here, as many have said, talk to ESRB, but I doubt they will bother with it. GTA has always been M or AO because it isn't online and it clearly swears in the game, it was programmed for that, there are strip clubs, sex, extreme violence, blood, etc. Guild Wars has none of this, it is only because of the players themselves that exploit the little easter eggs such as changing armors or dancing to turn it more perverse than it need be.
