After reading the "New Account Locks" thread I had a related idea and wanted to put it out here for comments.

Would folks like to see their world maps shared between characters? So once one of your chars had explored an area (removed the fog of war), then all of your chars world maps would be "explored" as well. It already happens if you have a guild hall...

I know it would make my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chars more efficient as they would benefit from an in game map instead of my printed out copy that sits beside my comp.

The only funkiness would be not allowing map travel to towns that you haven't walked to (or been transported to by a mission). Something like greyed out town and mission icons.

I don't like this idea. Your other characters can't really tell where they've been and where they haven't. Just because you know where things are, your characters don't. It's meant to be that way. I don't play my alts that often. I need that fog to tell where I've been. There's more to it than that but I can't really figure out how to write it out.

True enough, maybe a toggle that lets you use your "family experience" to view the map versus "orphan's view"?
