About that idea up there..
it sounds quite good but i m totally against another fu***** favor of gods-based idea..
That m8 sounds weird but there is a lil place called "European Server" and in that place, that favor shows up about 20 minutes every friday the 13th or something like that..
What could be helpful about the ecto prob, cause it's quite an important item in economy atm, it should salvageable from armors or something, u could have packs of 2-3 ..i m sure the price will be quite low after that

I think they should nerf farming properly, not nerf everything across the board. Farming is excessive playing over and over to gain an advantage over others (in terms of loot, money etc). Anet has done a good job of eliminating grind in terms of level gaining by capping at a relatively easy level of 20 and putting a halt to attribute growth. Obviously they want to do something to eliminate grind in terms of loot as well, they've just done a bad job of it. They already keep track of how many hours a char has been online, so start hurting drops based on how much time the person has been on. It's simple, they already implement something similar for the whole entering a zone, killing the first thing you see, zoning and repeating. Obviously you want to have the punishment recycle, so you put some nice exponential decaying weighter for drops based on the %age time you have been on the past week, day, 3 days, whatever. Now you up the loot back up to the way things were so that there is a way for new players to obtain wealth on par with the ones who have been around forever.

i think GW is handling the market quite well. its not the gamers fault about the prices. if you notice the sell price for items are reset from time to time (usually about every 3-4 days). what is messing it up is that they are not reseting the buy price so the price will continue to raise. people buy it raising the sell price then people dump their items while sell price is high before reset. if they would stop reseting the sell prices then it would stablize. right now look for a shaky market when only inflation on the rise. now that ecto has sold out at merchant i see the price going up 2-3k everyday. manage the buying price while continue resetting the sell price and it would just fine.

even if it was nerfed if u get the items drop [collectors]
u can sell em at 100 each so w/e find ur own spot and farm

I wish we could just stop the "nerf XXX because I don't like it" attitude...
I wonder why people even should bother with other players having tons of money? What can those rich players possibly do that other players can't? It boils down to:
a) Buying 15k armor
b) Buying other people's crap.
You can do a) even when you are not farming (just a tiny little bit slower then the farmers) and there is no reason to do b) ever! I have never bought ANYTHING from another player and yet I have quite decent equipment on all of my chars. Yes, cool items tend to drop for FREE if you play the game. Oh, and the collector items are MUCH better then most people think. You get them for free, too.
So what's the "nerf farming" attitute all about? I just don't get it...
