Castle Siege!
Yeah, I think guilds should have more to do than to just fight eachother for rankings. It's kinda just like being in a street gang except without the illegal activities. We should have something like castles to siege like in lineage II. I mean like instead of having it so that everyone can have a castle, there just be 1 castle that people would have to fight for control. An actualy physical object for a Guild/alliance to own. Bad idea?

Sounds like GVG battles, but on a larger scale.

Woot!!! Guildwars Expansion, Drug Wars!!!
lol, all kidding aside, castle seige is a great idea, but they should allow for 2 guilds to ally or allow for up to 20 or so in one guild to be on a team (24, 3 allied teams of 8)

I think it would be fun combined with guild alliances, and splitting up the castle. For example:
Guild Alliance A (made up of Guilds W, X, Y, and Z) controls the castle. Then each of the smaller guilds controls a part of the castle. Eg. Guild W controls the ramparts, Guild X controls the keep, Guild Y controls the courtyard and so on. If Guild H of Alliance B attacks Guild W and wins, they take over the ramparts. This way, the battles could still remain 8 vs 8 like ArenaNet wants, but also adds a more indepth strategy. The parts of the castle would be set in stone to include different types of battles. Open battle in courtyard, Assault on the ramparts, and CTF in the keep. This also allows for greater strategy, because Alliance A would have, to sit down and decide which guild would attack which.

Sounds like 6v6 teams in tombs but on diffrent locations...hmm maybe it would be good having something like tombs but on larger scale ...
P.S. Why alliances of guilds ( i dont say its bad idea)? ...guild can hold right now 100 members isnt it enough for Castle Siege?

If anyone remembers the story line( as broken as it seems ) this was sorta what happened when the guilds were banned from holding any land in asclon in the first place, so many guild "wars". I like the idea, but there would have to be a limit on how much of something the guild could acctually own.
I.E. 1-3 i.e. castles or structures and the land around it, would be cool tho to raid another guild or even their hall and steal items and things, something like this could be an entire expansion in itself.
I feel the guild halls need more, ie rewards such as extra buildings, guild hall storage etc etc. I don't see why they didn't give us a full set of henchies, a trader and etc in each guild hall. The hall itself is usless execpt for setting up guild battles which i'm not into as it is basically like pvp without rewards, which you have to play a lot anyway just to get enuff faction to buy a reward, which in turn can only be used in pvp. BLAH!
Tho i like the idea of having more to do with the actual guilds, raids, sieges, maybe even battles to gain axcess to guild only playable areas? shrugs.

Have Multiple Castles though
What would be good is if, every guild has some sort of a hut with normal functions - just setting up GvG, basically, but then there would be 20 castles, all slightly different in what they offered, but with some castles having a clear advantage over the others, so every guild would want a better building, so they would fight. To prevent guilds from taking over when no one is in the building, all users currently online and in a district would be automatically summoned, and no castles could be attacked if less than 75% of the guild was there.

How linage do it is it set a time for the attacking to take place. So the attacker and defender will know when it will happen.

when I readed this I thougth it could be achieved in a simlirar way to what Antonio Cappello just mentioned. lets say attacking teams a1 a2 a3 a4 have to take the walls and advance until they get to the courtyward for example. But defender teams b1 b2 b3 b4 all have control over a part of the wall. a1 vs b1, a1 vs b2 and so on, the trick is just as mentioned before that they fight in their own "wall" part and defenders cant go to wall2 for example nor can the attackers. so lets say a1 beats b1 now b1 is rezzed in area that is next wall lets say the rampants...the catch is, there is only rampant1 and rampant2, not 4 like the wall. so b1 has to figth a1 again in this bigger area. now, if b2 looses too (or retreats) b2 will be in the same area than b1 so now this can be a 16 vs 16. you could ontinue the same area logic until you had all 8 teams figthing in a huge area. the defenders would get a lot of "gadgets" to hold on the castle, and maybe the attackers could get morale boosts quicker, just throwing ideas.
this could be 4 teams vs 4 teams..or 2v2 to make it more practical. teams could be made of one guild members, or other guilds. anyway, I like the idea, if it could be balanced correctly It would be really fun. another kind of battle, we would have Guild battle, and assault castle scenario.
