hmmm I dont know about this. I for one have played this game straight threw done everysingle quest never had more than 4-8k on me at one time. I never sell to other players I sell to merchants. I have had everysingle upgrade you can buy from ascalon to draknors and was able to get it when I got there. I have also made 3 other characters and was able to upgrade them when I got to new towns that had armor. I have looted maybe 5-6 gold loots and those went to my guild mates and the gold loot they looted that I can use they gave to me. This is what this game is about Guild's helping and sharing.

but I will sign this petition because the lower drop rates cause me to loss my income as well and I don't farm I play the game as it was inteded do every mission do every quest do every bonus kill every monster in every zone I zone into.

I don't care if I don't get 5 Golden Godly Stormbows of Playerslaying in every run, but it'd be nice to find one cool item every now or then.

It's socialism man, Anet runs the higher economies (Runes, materials) which have crashed anyway and players run the weapon market, which is full of obscene prices that no one but the elite can afford.

I don't think they take into account, that nerfing doesn't affect botters in the least bit, it only affects legit players, and in a negative manner. The botters will still use bots to farm, it just takes them longer to do so. I speak from experience administering other MMO's and Muds. Nerfing hurts no one but legit players.

Here is how it is working and how it works for all online games of this type:

1) Gold/Items are plentiful, players make tons of cash. 2) Game company decides they make too much/game economy is out of balance/cheaters use bots to "farm" and sell the stuff on eBay. 3) Game company "nerfs" things to make things more "fair". 4) The cheaters/botters don't get as much gold or good items. What do they care, they still get the goods eventually, they still sell them, they still make gold, they still sell it on eBay, etc. 5) Legit players get screwed, and are forced to turn to eBay/botters/etc to get gold/items, further propagating the vicious cycle. 6) Game company kicks itself in the ass. 7) Repeat process ad naseum.

If you need any evidence of the above mentioned process, take a good look at UO, Lineage II, R.O.S.E. Online, AO, or Everquest.

I dont think they should bring back some of the MAJOR farming spots like the Hill Giants (my friend could make 100k in a day from them!) but bring back some of them DEFINATELY! I was thinking of making a petition but never got round to it so thank you! ^^

hahaha... I'm all for ANet's idea of making farming unecessary. The collectors have all the gear you need, you can buy runes, so PvE is fine that way. PvP needs improvements to unlocking, but the newly rebalanced faction may help with that - we'll see. No farming for you :P

The only real complaint I can see is that they encourage farming by making 15k and fissure armours, but make it incredibly difficult to obtain these by limiting the farming. If these were attainable through huge quests, by travelling through tough areas and so on it might make more sense - rather than having them based on wealth.

Particuarly in the case where someone works to clear out an entire area and enjoys doing so, this really took a lot of the fun out of the game.

1) RE: collectors have everything you need
no -- it is not the case that collectors have all the gear you would want. i challenge someone to tell me where a collector for a flameberg +20% while >50% health is located at.

2) if there are things in the game that requires 75k, it should be reasonable for players to be able to make ~2k per hour -- whether through farming or otherwise. after all, spending 36+ hours of game time should get you something...

3) Longevity of a game comes either from:
a) goal accomplishment or:
b) additional content that holds people's interest

In many ways, the nerfing simply eliminates 3a), yet, there really isn't enuf addition content to hold people's interest.

4) FINALY and MOST IMPORTANTLY --
Customers (yes, those that spent the money to pay A.net) deserves a game that THEY WANT. Since I started playing the game, I enjoyed the early parts. I enjoyed it so much that I got 3 other people to buy the software. I got my wife on it. I personally own 2 normal copies plus a collector edition.

However, recently, I have found the game increasingly boring -- due to the lack of things to do in the game.

I also find that the Anet customer support unresponsive (yes, a personal email from a person in a "personal" format will be more acceptable).

So, in the view of "Unless I do something to threaten some part of their profit, I will not be heard." I have decided to do the following:
---> Unless a.net fixes the loot issue, I will NOT buy any additional add-on's. I will recommend to all my friends that the game is no longer worth buying.

If you feel strongly on this issue, as I do, I urge all of you to state the same thing to A.net -- let them know that their future sales in jeopardy and perhaps they'll listen.
