Suggestion: Fatalities aka Finishing moves
I don't think this new feature would effect the gameplay, just more eye candy perhaps.
Would it be feasable, possible to implement "finishing moves" into Guild Wars?
i.e:
Warrior:
Lands a killing blow using Elite Axe Attack Skill "Eviserate"
- effect: the victim's head get decapitated
Kills someone using Sword Attack Skill "Sever Artery"
- effect: large amount of blood oozes out from victim
Kills someone using Elite Hammer Attack Skill "Backbreaker"
- effect: victim snaps in two vertically, right in the middle
Elementalist:
Kills somone with fire magic (limited to certain spells)
- effect: victim does an agonizing flame dance then collapses
(anyone played Fallout series before?)
Kills somone with water magic (limited to certain spells)
- effect: victim becomes a frozen statue
Kills someone with air magic (limited to certain spells)
- effect: victim becomes electrocuted, does an agonizing electrifying dance, then collapses
Ranger:
Kills somone with Bow Attack skills
- effect: victim gets impaled with arrow(s)
Someone dies due to health degeneration from Poison and or Disease:
- effect: victim becomes very green and mouldy, collapses and begins to rot away
Someone dies due to health degeneration from Bleeding:
- effect: victim becomes very pale and whitey
(I think the bleeding effect should be made visible on the living victim who is already suffering from bleeding, i.e: he should be 'leaking blood' all the time when he is suffering from bleeding)
Someone dies due to Holy Attack Damage type:
- effect: victim gets engulf in a bright column of light blueish light
Feasable idea? No? Yes?

Garbage. No finishing moves. However, I am up for flashier and useful spells. So far most of the spell effects are the typical glowing emblem overhead.

What is wrong with finishing moves?
It is just the same skill, gameplay is not effected at all, just special effects for more eye candy.

YAY, lets make GW for 18+ so that we can satisfy our sick mind. If u want to see Blood and Rolling heads go and Play Doom 3 or any other Brutal First Person Shooter.
One of the problems that might come is that each time you have an enemy dying the game lags just for you to get a bonus.
Rather make Special moves for each time you use an elite skill or something.

This is not Mortal Combat; therefore we should not expect any finishing moves, much less gory ones like that although nicer animations for elite skills and such would be welcomed. Sometimes I feel like I am using the same spell time and again since the animations don't vary much.

Gore? No.
Interesting reponse by the charachter due to the wound inflicted upon him? Maybe.
It would be nice to see the charchters respond to the wounds inflicted upon them instead of them just falling into a heap on the ground.
Death by poison? Charchters grabs throat and falls over.
Bleeding? Stumbles forward and falls face down overcome with weakness.
Fire? Falls to knees, charchter turns into a dark crispy color..then falls over.
There are ways to make the death get the point across on what really killed them, without gore or being graphic.

Decapitation? The only problem I see is what happens when the person is resurrected by a monk. Headless players anyone? I guess you could but the condition "blind" on them har har.

Mortal Kombat!!!!
Although it would be cool to decapitate that piece of crap you've been trying to kill for a while, it would change the the game's ESRB rating and it would be too much trouble since its already out. However, if they're going to include a condition called bleeding, I really would like to see the guy grabbing his side to stop the blood from coming out.

well ig it was +18 it would be possible..some of them. the warrior one's are just, nasty >< I wouldnt like to see a mesmer girl getting decapitated..thats just wrong.
But even from all that Mortal Kombat speech, I think the arrow thing would look nice. No blood, if you kill it with an arrow the arrow stays. imigne someone who dies from barrage^^

Adding that would give the game a mature rating, as opposed to it's current Teen. And they don't want a higher rating for sure. Also it wouldn't be guildwars if people were getting decapitated, torn apart, melted, etc. That's just nasty.

my thoughts exactly. decapitating someone should not entice someone to play this game. its a group-oriented adventure/role playing game, not a fighting game.

finnishing moves could really spice things up... mine would be "down, down, up, right, right, down, left, A, B," id totaly smack them in a face with a cake, the cake would then explode making my opponent blast off into the sky...
i dont really think they would fit though, sound a little too violent for all the little kiddies who want to play along with us, i like this game the way it is

Well the game is for 13+, don't get this arguement. But anwyay, some finishing moves would be nice, but not gorey since that would raise the rating to M.
