Please forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place or if someone's made this suggestion before (I'm super-mega-ultra-new @_@) I think it would be really cool if a game update featured a new chat channel for roleplaying, as a possible alternative to RP districts if the programmers decide not to implement those - which I hope they do!

Meaning, the "Roleplaying" channel would appear in the chat window alongside "Local", "Trade", "Emote", etc.

Yes it is a nice idea but it'd take about 10 minutes before the traders in a town start spamming it up with WTB/WTS. It's gotten so bad that at places it's nearly impossible to have any converstations with all the trade spam in the chat channel. And Anet isn't doing a thing about it... :|

I still find it funny that there are so many who want to start a "role playing" theme in a game called Guild Wars. However, perhaps if Anet sees a large enough market for this they'll make a game suitable for this.

They can role play to their hearts content. Like I said, someone should make a game that better supports the role playing theme(s)...they'd make big bucks.

Instead of WTB/WTS I'd be funny to see something like, "Hear Yee! To all honorable souls of the Ranger profession. I hold before thee a Bow made of the highest(+1 to markmanship) quality wood and strung with the finest string(10% armor pen). Thee parting rate is that of only 500 gold pieces, or an instrument of equal craftmanship."

I like the idea alot.

I support it 100%, but would like bigger problems fixed before this is put in

yea but peopel arent using just the trade channel now, they are using local chat to advertise because they know people turn off trade chat lol

What is the RP channels where permission based? Where as it's like recruiting for a guild, only you're giving them permission to enter the rp channel?

What if Duke Moronic doesn't like me, yet i'm still a great roleplayer? Am i kept out of the RP Experience just because i'm not best friends with Duke Moronic? (Just a fake name for some cheap laughs).

It could be treated like "Shards" let players buys them like guild halls. Then they can invite people in. Eventually a few will gain reputation and become popular,, the officers could be the mods.
