I believe that the "gap" in the end is to allow players who went solo with henchies to have a chance of completing the bonus mission. If they made it so you got attacks close to continuiously then you would HAVE to go in a player group to do the bonus..
And they have seemed to try and make the game 100% playable with henchies.. and bonuses are supposedly able to be done with henchies as well.. altho some are apparently extremely hard to do with henchies (or maybe close to impossible should be said? don't know.. haven't got to them yet). They also advertised the game as being playable with henchies...
It would be nice if you weren't interested in doing the bonus if they could make getting the main mission harder. Dunes was bloody easy with henchies.. the trickiest part was the 1st 2 siege wurm's.. but once I figured out what was going on with them... it was a walk in the park.. get into the temple..whiuch was easy.. just chock in the "door" and take everything out slowly.. kill enemy hero.. then take the small groups of enemies out when they came..
It was way easy. Especially as you said.. it's one of the 3 missions b4 ascention. I was expecting it to be a lot harder than it was. But as I said, I suspect they made it easy so people could get the bonus with henchies.. either that or they were rushing the production of this mission and just rushed it and didn'y even try and make it hard at all. Heck.. some of the "jungle" missions are harder than this mission..
maybe add more siege wurms? Add more enchanted enemies in the temple to kill.. and a good mix of them as well... increase the number of critters you face when they rush you... esp the enchanted groups.. I found that dead easy.. stand by the hero and kill them as they come... had there been more of them and more often...
