Wow I have a brilliant idea - how about a hero class that has ALL the skills!!
Oh wait suggestions like that ruin the basic idea of the game. Sorry my bad.

IMO before going out w/ a PUG you should determine which two individuals(or however many) can rez and then it should be determined that in ugly situations those two should make haste and run away so that they may come back and reserect...there is no reason that you should ever have to have 8 rez capable players in a party. If you do then the party leader is not a good leader. Guess thats what you get when you pick up a party and just say "is everyone ready" then start playing w/o even figuring out what kind of skills they are bringing to the table.

The res signet is only used in PvE because it is the only one available.
A good group with 8 high dmg dealers can not finish a mission beacause it is very likely that someone dies and could not be resssurect. (with res signet -> 8 slots for 8 ressurections)
A bad Group with 5(or x) low dmg dealers an 3(or >= 1) monks _CAN_ because the have close to infinit "tries". ( ~1 slots for infinit resruection)
This is bad!

Are you forgetting the exp debt!? And remeber that the res signet recharges with each boss you kill. In thirsty river we don't even bring perma resses because we're fighting a boss every two minutes.
Reses are fine as they are. One permanet resser is usually enough. Sometimes it nice to have a w/mo for backup. A good team shouldn't be dying in the first place. It's beacuse alot of monks have this infinte retrys logic in their ead i just bring alecia along now. She's a damn sight easier to keep alive then alot of the human monks out there.

If everyone had Ressurection spells, though, there would be almost no use for monks then. Most people hire monks into their groups because of only their Ressurection spell. I mean, a very good party can pass a mission or quest without the need of getting healed, but then there would be no point for monks if everyone had a Ressurection spell. Stick with the Rez Signet. It makes monks more useful.

That is strange...after 400 plus hours ingame i have never seen a party leader LF a reserection monk..hehe..a monk w/ all res skills? Hey last time i checked you were kicked out of a party if they were looking for a monk and you said you didnt heal/protect.

Exactly my point.
Perma resses is a good thing, for all. You guys seem to be looking at this ideally and not objectively.
@ riluve
Thank you for the completely useless post. Don't let the door hit ya on your way out.

I hear ya loud and clear... so not wishing to be like some of the other jacka$$ posters who just say "don't suck" I'll say something I feel.
Having Mo as a secondary for is a must for the simple fact there is reusable res spells. Sure EVERYONE can have RES but its only good once per life or area. So if you use it, its not going to work until you die or go into another area. I don't want to have Monk as secondary every single character. Where is the fun in experimentation? There needs to be a reusable res for all classes. I use Rebirth for the most part, its teleport was the main reason cause I can teleport the dead out of harm's way.
Specially those who hate the stupidity of some players over their hate for stupid hench (IE: me) and use hench as much as possible. I only group with my friends or guild mates if I can otherwise.
/signed, we need reusable res!

I was thinking this same thing the other day and while it would be nice and certainly convenient, I don't think it's necessary. As was said, the res sig is enough with planning. I could understand a ranger or elementalist getting a weak reusable res skill, but otherwise it isn't necessary or practical.

/signed we realy need one res skill for everyone. At least for PvE. (the Signet IS only a PvP skill)
Trials to finish a mission, no monk: max 8
Trials to finish a mission , >1 Monk: close to endless
I just found this thread about res skills :
