i think the 100g for tempory invite (the have a friend in) thing is ok, but i dont think you should have to pay to invite them in permanantly.
i was realy happy when i found there was a visitor version. would make a good way to get to know people without actually making them guildies, should they turn out to be incompatable...like a PvP only person ending up in a RP PvE only guild....both sides would be mad.
but i dont think the guild should have to pay 100g to permanently invite you. not all players /guilds will consider a 50/50 swap.
if, and its a big if here, people...IF someone is worthy, maybe well known or seen in action, and a guild wants to get them to join and they were from another guild or similar, then i can understand them paying. like footballers ect ^^
but if its joe blogs from wandering about in ascalon, never seen and could be a total dumbot of a player (does a rurik and dwarfboy run into danger and get whacked) you shouldnt have to buy them into your guild.
i think they need to take the 100g to join and make it 100g to leave, if leaving within the next 7 days.
you get 7 days when properly joined, and if ether you or your guild dont get along, ether you *the joiner* or your guild can pay the 100g to get you gone.
if you cant get along, you pay, if they cant stand you, they pay.

i was originally very dissapointed by the fact that i now have to pay 100g to invite someone, especially when i did recruting on pre-searing, but then i thought about it and remembered one person on post searing
"if you want into a guild, accept the invite"
he was sending invites to anyone not guilded, and this stops that.
so while i still dont like it, its better for people like them, remember, rules are made for the dumb people, not the smart ones.

On the contrary, rules are made to be broken.

True, but on the flip side, how do you punish the guild jumpers? I've had people ask me a million question before accepting and invite that THEY asked for, only to have them quit within minutes in some cases.
It should either be free to invite/accept or it should cost both ways. I see the new member paying as being his "dues" and a guild paying for him as being his "insurance".

Pay to join. Amount should be directly proportional to one's level.

they should have a system on gurus that u can advertise for ur guild and then have people post ss of their "/age" and then u can pick from the most active and best, then u dont have to worry about bad people or standing in a district pasting a message every 2 mins

Here is an easy way of fixing this... you pay 100 to invite someone but the person joining has to pay for that charge before joining the guild.

so you must be under the impression that the 100g price tag on sending out invites was done for fun....and not a functional reason.
It should be 5plat to invite someone into your guild. there is no reason to be random inviting people all over the world of Tyria. 100g doesn't alleviate this problem.
