We need monkies
So when was the last time you heard about a person getting owned by a scorpion or a scarab? Why does Guild Wars ONLY have scorpions and scarabs in jungles? why can't they be more creative and make rabid forsaken lemurs or monkies? why aren't there any monky pets? Oh sure, scorpions have poison but monkies can tear your ball apart and bite your fingers off . So why do we have lame animals like lynx and naruto and no rabid chimpanzees?

As far as monster variety goes, yeah, we could use more. I was fed up with scorpions by the time I hit Druid's Overlook, and got mighty pissed when still I found them in the Desert yet again.
Rabid monkeys chasing me trying to bite my fingers off would be a refreshing change of pace.

I'd rather have monkeys chasing me trying to bite my fingers off and then furiously hump my dead body.
It's the stuff of dreams!

Not so much fighting scorpions over and over... but the fact they can set up flame traps? What the hell is that??? Yeah I know it's a game but that is pushing my creativity beyond its limits.

Go out, tame a scorpion to attack on command, and we'll talk.
You spelled monkeys wrong.

As a personal fan of monkeys I have to agree that if I could have a monkey as a pet, I'd be a ranger much more often.
They could even incorporate a new skill called "Spank" which would send your pet into a violent frenzy for 30-45 seconds. Ok, the second part was lame...lol. Forgive me.

The scorpions with the flame and dust traps are bad, but let's just hope the hydras don't start casting chain lightning or enervating charge. Btw, shouldn't hydras have more than one head?
There also aren't enough spiders or any centipede or beetle mobs in the game. I mean we've got a ton of insects to go through before we even get close to mammals as enemies.

No, no! You're on the right track!!
Give pets skills exclusive to each kind! Give monkeys "Poop Shoot", a skill that blinds and/or poisons your enemy and I'm sold! Bonus points if they actualy give the skill its own unique 'poop and shoot' animation!

Hehe - when i saw the topic, i thought u were reffering to monks, which are nicknamed monkeys by certain ppl, such as myself.
Anyway - yeah, i do totally agree with you. Making more different kinds of monsters would really help GW a lot.

Nono! Regular bananas! Theres another attack in it! The "Flip it!" skill would peel a banana and toss the peel at an enemy, thus causing knockdown!

monkey's are a great idea... and a normal sized gorilla would be a more frightening enemy than a scorpion which is approximately 200 times its real life size.
